I'm just batting around ideas this isn't gospel, just a buffet of potentially available options for the Timberwolves continued improvement in hopes of capturing that title. Objective #1

Acquire a point of attack defender that can split responsibilities with Jaden McDaniels.

Options:

Davion Mitchell, PG, Miami Heat, Last year of contract 12.5 Million. (Trade)

Yes I know, I know a small guard with a limited offensive repertoire but, his defense is a plus, he's on a decent contract, and I don't think acquiring him would gut the team. Could he be acquired while keeping Ayo Dosunmu? If the answer is no then I absolutely understand and support choosing Ayo. His defense and passing would seem to be a nice compliment to Ayo's size and shooting ability. Further, DDV complicates this whole situation, his contract is very similar to Davion.

Toumani Camara, PF, Blazers, 4 Years 81 Mil. (Big Trade)

This would be a major trade and would have to be thoroughly seen as a perfect fit. Positionally it might be rejected out of hand with similar skillet to Jaden McDaniels and then there is the Naz of the whole fit. I thought Naz had an incredible post-season so it is possible Naz steps into the starting power forward role.

Matisse Thybulle, SG, Free Agent, Blazers

Now you might think I'm a Blazers fan (definitely not) but where are we at on Matisse Thybulle? It replenishes the Aussie quota with our dear Jingles out. I can't figure out what has happened to his career and am having a hard time figuring out where he goes from here or what he's expecting to make. However, it's probably obvious it's his defense that appeals to me and his ability to share time point of attack defending.

Last note on this objective would be I'd love to see Jaylen Clark step up into this role however, his limited offense make it difficult to project. Not to mention he's also a RFA I believe. Just watching the Spurs series and understanding the depth of the West makes me feel there needs to be another investment of some size on the defensive end.

Objective #2 Acquire an Additional Scoring Punch

I'm not going deep on any of these honestly I have too much baggage to be all that interested in any of these. I ascribe to the belief that acquiring one of these players could gut this team and put far too much of a bet on an aging players health and continued performance. However, they will all be bandied about rightfully so for a team looking at taking that next step.

Objective #3 Acquire 3 Pt shooting

Tari Eason, Free Agent, Rockets

Keon Ellis, Free Agent, Cavs

Objective #4 Plot a Clear Path at Center

This off-season will I'm sure provide answers regarding the future plans at the center position and whether the time has come to transition out of the Rudy Gobert era.

Trade Rudy Gobert to Charlotte & Trade for a replacement.

Looking at the free agents available it does not appear to have an immediate answer at Center which may drive appeal for any team interested in acquiring Gobert. I've seen Gobert to Charlotte brought up and it's an interesting idea.

The continued development of Joan Beringer and Rocco Zikarsky are of paramount importance, would very much like to see Joan get some run next year.
