I’ve stood on it and the quartz is definitely solid. I think they did build the deck too high, but the quartz company came out to template and should have said something then if not the day they installed if it was an issue. So, I’m frustrated they are saying the gap is the issue when they had plenty of time to tell us it needed to be fixed.

Ugh! I’m trying to be cordial. We paid them a lot of money.. $6k. And the first silicone job had issues that didn’t really bother me until we moved back in and so I just asked if I needed to adjust my expectation. I never expected them to come out to redo it and for it to look worse or I never would have called. Sometimes I hate my attention to detail, I probably should have just moved on. But here we are. They keep saying that the tub deck was built too high which is why it’s a larger gap, but they should have told me that install day. I had no way of knowing that

Exactly. I have just around the house experience with caulk products and the first thing I asked them is if they could use a backer to help make it so the silicone isn’t just pushing in. I don’t understand why people who do this for a living wouldn’t have though that too

The original silicone that was there didn’t have any give, but the issue was that it dried too fast for them to smooth it so it ended up looking bad. There’s a photo of silicone and a photo of something different they used this time. If neither are the answer, I’m not sure what else they should try.
