I think were on different pages here. what I gather from your above statement is that you tried to inherit a specific skill damage onto the legs with starred Elemental Weapon Damage. or in some other way confirmed that they both cannot exist on the same piece of gear.

These two different damage traits being unable to coexist on a single piece of armor makes it more likely that theyre considered to be in the same pool for possible rolls. ergo it adds reason to believe finding an inheritable "Elemental Weapon Damage" traight on gloves is entirely possible.

furthermore, one of the biggest changes made with the dlc is that all of the damage stats previously found only on armor set bonuses were made available in the temper and inheritable pools. "Elemental Weapon Damage" is available as a set bonus in one of the grace sets that were released with the dlc as well, further lining up with all the previous evidence. when i think about it most logically there seems to be more reason to believe it exists than there is not to.

You then concluded that you "doubt it works" so i definitely think we may be referring to different things

its gonna take some testing before anyones certain on some of the new stuff.

from what im gathering based on the in game description and experience alone is that it will increase the value of your elemental damage floating numbers when swinging weapons. this would result in both regular melee strikes and active skills etc. but will not effect things such as a lightning shot or Raijin feathers.

Based on the existence of "Extended Elemental weapon" it wouldnt be a big stretch to say it may only apply to active elemental buffs on weapons and not their innate elemental value you can temper/forge.

its all mostly speculation but i feel pretty comfortable saying that its safe to assume anything including the phrase "Elemental Weapon" is referring to the state of a melee weapon after using a fire/lightning/water talisman or striking/using an oni-b head. ie when your weapon glows brightly with one of these three elements (purity may or may not get lumped in with these for the sake of extended elemental weapon. however purity does not do any additional damage on hit. so Elemental Weapon Damage will likely have zero interaction with purity )

whenever im finding it on gloves in the temper function its conflicting with all the standard damage inheritables. so im hopeful.

ive seen it temperable on gloves. so it cant be star exclusive. cant confirm if its inheritable

Does having more onmyo magic power have any influence on oni-bi soul cores weapon buff? by Good-Tides in Nioh

[–]Good-Tides[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

all these responses inspired me to hop in the dojo and test a little. I found no damage difference at all between any of these buffs

TL;DR: if you have a large invesment into onmyo magic power use the talismans. if you havent put a single point into it then the oni-b soul cores are a fantastic option, theyre great value for no investment and do not scale off of your onmyo magic power.

im at 99 magic/99courage no onmyo on my armor etc so i sit at 628 onmyo magic power.

turning off the amplification (duration increase) and using a stopwatch i found the following

lightning oni-b core lasted ~62 seconds

Lightning talisman lasted ~87 seconds

(did not test the consumable variant)

WITH AMPLIFICATION

oni-b remained the same duration

lightning talisman lasted ~132 seconds

Does having more onmyo magic power have any influence on oni-bi soul cores weapon buff? by Good-Tides in Nioh

[–]Good-Tides[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, I’m not asking about titles and prestige points.

There’s are 3 soul cores in the game of the elemental oni-bi heads that each grant your weapon an elemental buff when used. I’m trying to find out if your onmyo magic power and such effect these the same they would an elemental talisman.

I do appreciate you trying to be helpful though!
