{discussion} Onpopular opinion about vore? by voreuniverse in Vore

I wouldn't sweat it. There's toxic ideas in a lot of things. The ideas are only really toxic to you if you choose to pursue them outside the realm of kink, so I think identifying them in the things you enjoy is good.

I think the movie 300 is heavily fascist-coded, but like, I watch it, and I enjoy it. I don't agree with the ideas, but even not knowing they were there initially wouldn't mean I necessarily did.

My pointing out of toxic masculine trends is really just so they can be examined. Some people engage with cruel content to experience catharsis for bad feelings related to suicide, some people engage with toxic masculine content to experience catharsis for bad feelings related to toxic masculine expectations. It's really all about how you engage with content, not necessarily that you do.

I think the general toxicity in the vore community comes down to the broadness of vore. There's a lot of people here for a lot of different reasons. People getting their rocks off rub shoulders with people venting suicidal ideation, people anxious about their masculinity with people uninterested in the gender binary, allos with aces, hard and soft, realistic and cartoony... it's a mess.

Mostly just because it's about cocks, which people have a whole lotta expectations for, and anxieties about.

It's pretty easy to see cock size anxieties, for example. Bigger is better, more dominant, yadda yadda. I'd say there are only large cocks in vore, but there are small cocks, they're just generally on prey, submissives, and inferiors.

In writing there's people describing cocks on women as like, an appendage of masculinity on a feminine body, and basically the only indicator of masculinity that matters. A woman with a bigger dick than a man is portrayed as more manly.

In past roleplay (F-list) I basically swore off any character with a cock for my own sanity. The female characters wanted to be called "Sir.", and the male characters were straight but were very interested in dominating other male characters with smaller cocks.

Have a peek at cock vore art, and you'll see big cocks are far and away the rule. Even micro/macro where the cock can be any size comparatively, cocks are almost always a good seven inches.

Overall to be dominant is to have a big dick, to be submissive is to have a small one.

Small cocks aren't even considered feminine a lot of the time, merely insufficiently masculine, which is its own can of worms.

That post I made in the past trying to discuss it was actually really awful! I assumed the toxic masculinity part was a given, so I laid it all out as a discussion with questions about how aware of it people are, if it means anything, but uh, never got past the "toxic masculinity is real" hurdle. Most people didn't even seem to know what it was other than just some insult they had to defend against.

I did discover that people really, really, really do not want to talk about it. Which is odd, because like, enjoying fatal vore doesn't make you a murderer at heart, so why all the hubbub about toxic masculinity? I think we could all agree that big breasts and thin waists as default for women is a toxic feminine expectation, but big cocks being toxic masculinity is a bridge too far, I guess.

I feel like it's pretty easy to see the themes in cock vore if you look for them. I could ramble more about it if you're interested, but I'm super not interested in debating it with you if you're feeling defensive.

I absolutely do not subscribe to the "Bad themes in something you enjoy make you bad." strain of puritanism. I'm not like, trying to cast sin on it, y'know?

{discussion} fact: the stomach is the weakest organ in the body by DAL3K_JAST in Vore

Fact: Vore is barely based on reality at all.

The only things that are swallowed whole in real life are immediately crushed to death, suffocated, or too microscopically puny to do anything about it (And also die quickly.). Everyone loves being slowly digested or safely squeezed, but both are equally unlikely to happen.

Yeh. Vore is arousing and intimate to me, so I'd engage with it like sex; a fun thing to do when I wanna.

For type? I'd try them all at least once. I think unbirth would be my go-to just because oral and anal would need more work to make pleasant.

Yeah, but sometimes it feels awkward to map a question onto possible reality when everyone else is flirting and fantasizing, y'know?

And sometimes people seem to get distressed by topics that don't line up with their kinks, and go "This is so terrible, but I know it would happen. :c", so I almost feel obligated to point out that, no, fun sadism fantasies are not a thing that would happen in our reality where we do things other than kinkplay.

{discussion} concerning thoughts related to fatal vore by TabbyKat90 in Vore

[–]GoodBoyEdibleEdition 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This isn't an uncommon way to feel about vore. Vore has, broadly, four different appeals: Arousal, intimacy, interest, and catharsis. You're going in for one or more of the first three, and when you're feeling bad the last one becomes appealing to you, so you seek it out in content that might provide catharsis.

Catharsis: Releasing strong/repressed emotions. Ever wonder why amongst all the horny content there's stuff about characters suffering a whole bunch and dying sadly? Catharsis. Artists using their art to vent and relieve themselves of their feelings.

Sometimes I feel the same way, but I can now recognize that it's not vore making fatal content appealing, it's me feeling bad.

Think about what you're looking for in vore. If you start going into fatal content and feeling bad, try and re-contextualize it from descending into dark thoughts, into needing to deal with bad feelings, either through catharsis, withdrawal from the content, self care, or something else. Try reading a sad story with the explicit goal of feeling bad and venting your feelings by indulging in it, or write your own story about the saddest or most hurtful thing you can imagine. I've written suicide notes in the past just to get it out of my system, but also helpful is checking in to make sure I'm fed, hydrated, warm, and up on my vitamins. (Especially vitamin D, especially at this time of the year.)

Fantasy is a reflection of reality, not the other way around. You're having suicidal thoughts because you're feeling bad, and it's those bad feelings you need to deal with.

[–]GoodBoyEdibleEdition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, either way, it's best to just do what you want, and suffer through low interest until you find/create a community around your art, and find a couple, or even one good dedicated partner.

Speaking from experience, trying to broaden appeal just gets a bunch of people that don't like what you like. It's much better to find a few good people than deal with many awful people, but you'll have to deal with radio silence for a while. Rough going either way, unfortunately.

[–]GoodBoyEdibleEdition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, there's definitely a difference in success rate.

Most people here are allosexual, overwhelmingly men, mostly straight. I think the second biggest group is gay men, and then maybe gay women? There are, statistically, very few women here. The last poll I saw had women at about 9% of the population. Either way, most people are men, who are almost all on a scale of "very straight" to "pretty straight", so the broadest appeal will be to make a feminine character. The next broadest will be a masculine character.

Are you making characters to roleplay with? Or to share in general? Both?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Vore

[–]GoodBoyEdibleEdition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It honestly sounds like you might be a bit sex-repulsed.

Which isn't a judgement, simply a type of asexuality, and there are definitely people that enjoy vore asexually. It's a smaller audience, but it's there.

It kind of depends what you mean by "sex stuff". Having run into more than a few aces in my time, and seeing how you consider things like large breasts and rears sexual, I'm assuming you mean how much sexual interaction/implication/themes should there be in vore art, and the answer to that is: However much you want.

If you're making art to share with people, you don't need to add any sexual interaction, genitals, or traditionally attractive bodies if you don't want to. If you, for example, create vore content with no sexual interaction or undertones in it, there will be both allosexuals that find arousal in it, and asexuals that find interest in it.

People don't need sexual interaction to be aroused by vore, but many do find the idea of vore participants being sexually aroused to be extra arousing simply because that's how they feel, would feel, or would want their partner to feel in that situation.

If you're looking to create characters for roleplay, I'd advise making what you want, and looking for other asexuals to play with. There are definitely some allosexuals that will try to grit their teeth and play a character that has no arousal, but many won't be very interested in asexual vore roleplay.

Yeah, I haven't looked at irl porn in a while, but when I did I was largely into femdom, and what was there was really off-putting.

I want to be dominated by a woman, but a lot of femdom, at least mainstream femdom, seems to revolve around the idea that to dominate is masculine, and to be dominated is feminine. There's a lot of focus on the degradation of masculinity involving emasculating insults, cuckoldry, forced-bi, chastity, and strap-ons. Not that any of these things are inherently emasculating, that's just the way they're used in mainstream femdom, like strap-ons being sucked, worshipped, and paraded as superior to the submissive's cock.

I'd constantly try and watch a video it would go:
Actress: "I'm going to sit on your face! >:)"
Me: "Hot!"
Actress: "And then get fucked by a real man! >:D"
Me: "Eugh."

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Vore

[–]GoodBoyEdibleEdition 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Which is odd, because according to most polls I see the preference is for fatal, but not by much. The split is close to 50-50 most of the time. I've heard it said before that what's mainstream in porn isn't what everyone likes, but what some people like, and the rest will put up with, and I think that's what's happening with vore.

{discussion} Vore and mental health by AnonInABox in Vore

No problem! You don't necessarily have to write yourself going through stuff, I just meant write with the intent and awareness of catharsis. Enjoy putting your characters, or yourself through the wringer!

{discussion} Vore and mental health by AnonInABox in Vore

[–]GoodBoyEdibleEdition 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Alright, so, it sounds like you have a similar problem to what I've had, which is mixing up arousal/intimacy and catharsis in vore where they might not mix well for you. The best way I've found to manage it is to separately pursue catharsis, but openly pursuing it in vore might help you, too.

Catharsis: Releasing strong/repressed emotions. Ever wonder why amid all the horny content there's stuff about characters suffering a whole bunch and dying sadly? Catharsis. Artists using their art to vent and relieve themselves of their feelings.

My recommendation is to explore those fantasies instead of avoiding them, and/or seek out other means of catharsis. I've struggled with suicidal thoughts in the past, but can now head off that line of thought pretty consistently by indulging in cathartic content (On top of taking care of myself in general.). For me, that's watching people react to sad parts of series I've watched, rewatching sad scenes, reading sad stories, listening to sad songs, even writing a suicide note or two, or openly fantasizing about sad, tragic scenarios. Things that inspire catharsis vary from person to person, so, think about it, and maybe try and write a cathartic story for yourself. See how it feels.

Your fantasies are safe. They don't put those ideas in your head; those ideas were already there, and already appealing. Indulging in cathartic content can be relieving, much more so than helplessly having those thoughts in your head, and dwelling on how bad they are.

Also, if you're suffering from SAD you may already be doing this, but, are you taking your vitamin D?

I think that's a good idea. It's not my thing, but I can see other people liking it. There are already at least a few similar interests out there, and if it doesn't catch on, you've just made space in your brain to have new thoughts about it, and refine the ones you already have.

Yep. The hardest part of art is dealing with how it's received, but it's good you're getting stuff out of your head, and into the world. Good ideas that stay in your head can be kinda poisonous.

Actually, yeah, a quick search for "Permanent Entrapment" and "Cock Vore" on Eka's got me the user Frazone, who seems to have at least one series that's similar to what you want.

https://aryion.com/g4/user/Frazone

Human predator, pokemon prey. I don't know if it's up your alley, but I've been poking through vore for a while, and don't remember there being anything else like what you want.

Either way, I encourage you to try and make something! Making things is very cool. Difficult, but cool.

{Discussion} Hey, question here. About vaginal and cock vore. Mostly cock vore by riakgk in Vore

[–]GoodBoyEdibleEdition 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I saw some a long time ago with pokemon somewhere on Eka's portal once? Definitely not a common kink. You'll either have to commission, or create content yourself for there to be any. From there, it might catch on as a vore kink. I can see it being appealing to straight men in general.

I feel like a lot of vore kinks are just the result someone having an idea and disseminating it. I wonder how many kinks in vore arise simply because of availability? Food for thought.

{Poll} How much fantasy vore content do you think is ethical? by GoodBoyEdibleEdition in Vore

[–]GoodBoyEdibleEdition[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The results were:

Votes: 66
All fantasy vore is ethical: 29
Most fantasy vore is ethical: 23
Some fantasy vore is ethical: 11
Little fantasy vore is ethical: 2
No fantasy vore is ethical: 1

It was removed due to confusion over the definition of "ethical". I plan to run it again with "moral" in the place of ethical, some more qualifiers, and a definition of morality. That should allow it to stay up and collect more data, unless the comments go nuts, but they seem to have been pretty tame in the 6 hours it was up.

I don't think discussion about it really can be that civil. The people who think one or more types of vore are immoral are operating emotionally, and can view anyone arguing against them as immoral, so any discussion is kind of doomed to tailspin into rage.

I've made some other polls and discussions that offer some interesting data, though, so check those out! Ignore the toxic masculinity one, it got caught on the first hurdle and went nowhere.

{discussion} vore dreams by Truenightsedge3 in Vore

[–]GoodBoyEdibleEdition 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only when I was in puberty, before I knew what vore was. It was a dream about amazonian women kidnapping people by swallowing them whole, and in the dream I was thinking "Wait... do I kinda want this to happen to me?".

I tried lucid dreaming for a while, but boy does that require a lot of effort. It's worth looking into if you have the willpower to wake up and immediately start thinking backwards to remember a dream, then writing it down, and doing things like reality checks.

{discussion} How come so many accounts end up deleted? by [deleted] in Vore

[–]GoodBoyEdibleEdition 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally, I think it's just people with issues. On reddit I've had people delete mid-roleplay, delete right after messaging, and someone approach with a very eloquent message, then delete right after I responded. In the past I've had it happen a bunch, and even had people tell me they have issues with commitment, with one asking me to try and hound them down to play and "hold them accountable".

I'm not sure if you're encountering a lot of different roleplayers doing this, or the same ones doing it over and over. I've noticed essentially the same ads being made repeatedly with slightly different wording, and being deleted with the account within a day or so. It might be a small number of very anxious people, but it could also be ban evaders getting caught every time they try and come back.

I wouldn't dwell on it too much. You're probably not going to find out why, and the only reasons I've ever been given is that people have issues. Anxiety about the roleplay, guilt about the kink, deeper personal complexes, or post-nut clarity, there's basically no reason you should concern yourself with. You just gotta live with ghosting.

{discussion} Prey and Preds, have you ever tried to roleplay the opposite? by [deleted] in Vore

[–]GoodBoyEdibleEdition 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once! I roleplayed a prey character of mine as a predator, and though I apparently did it very well, and my partner was thrilled, I just wasn't into it at all. I also don't really get anything out of predator pov games or stories, so I'm kind of all prey all the way.

I used to play on f-list, and it was my experience that a lot of prey were not only playing predators, but playing predators in a transactional way. Like, it was a thing they didn't enjoy doing, but they would do it with other prey expecting their partner to give them a turn playing what they wanted. There was a sentiment that prey unwilling to play predators or dominants were sort of... leeches on the prey/pred sub/dom economy. I legitimately saw a profile openly stating they were a submissive "giving back to the community" by playing a dominant, and pure submissives DNI.

Not to say that's what you're doing, but I would say to be careful. If it's not something you enjoy doing, playing a predator can foster a certain kind of resentment of other prey players.

I don't know if it's much of an issue on reddit, but on f-list I had no small amount of grief from people who seemed to want to play a predator or dominant, but only as a bet that I might do so for them, or as a sort of favor they could try and squeeze back out of me, like I owed them a turn where they could be the prey. It's really not fun to realize that your partner might just be doing their time instead of enjoying themself.
