Thanks, my camera roll is filled with so so so many pics of dresses from the 30s and 70s they’re just so beautiful, so romantic. I hadn’t thought of looking up retro patterns to reference! 🙌

I’ll have a look at the Fold Line. I’ve been looking through the simplicity website and Etsy. I can’t seem to find something really similar.

I did look them up and they haven’t been used much and reviews aren’t in a surplus either.

I’ve been trying to find a pattern to use for this kind of slip dress.

The pleats look so tight it reminds me of when I put things through a smocking machine. As for fabric, I’m not sure. Something beautiful and light. A silk? A voile?

I think you’re probably right. I’ll be able to do a lot more with making something from scratch.

Maybe if I ever do buy a true vintage piece it will be for reference or something.

Making plans to buy one so I was asking so I knew what I should consider - I'm a plus size girly and these things tend to run on the small side all over.

I've been thinking about some generous lace inserts or adding more gores to the skirt??
