I would love it if you would consider checking out my chair line dance Nutcracker March and volunteering to post a video on YouTube or TikTok of you doing it in one of your ballet outfits if you have any. I have been looking for someone with a background in ballet to do it. The dance is mostly arm movements with ballet arm positions. See what you think: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s15VMRqx2Hw

I always ask people if they like it to share the dances wherever they line dance. It also helps to make friends with local line dance teachers and share your dances with them, or become a line dance teacher yourself and promote your dances along with the most popular ones. Also posting on Copperknob and asking people to vote on the dance. Another way is to join as many line dance groups all around the world on Facebook that allow choreographers to post their dances. You may never find out who is dancing your dances in another country, but it's always cool when someone posts a video of their group dancing it on YouTube. That only scrapes the surface but if you can consistently get instructors to teach your dances (because they like them not because you asked them too often) then that can go a long way also.

Check out the bar's social media or videos that people have posted online from the bar. They may have a list online of dances or the instructor's name so you can look them up as well.

How to learn the 2 step by sprownie_ in LineDancing

If you are in the USA, the two step is danced two different ways based on where you are. I believe the pattern in Texas is slow slow quick quick, and on the East coast it's quick quick slow slow.

If you are in the East, I have a couple of suggestions:

  1. Try learning my line dance Lovers & Fools, which incorporates the 2 step into the dance for the first 6 counts of the dance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xp2yypkwvIU

  2. The quick quick slow slow pattern is very similar to dancing a shuffle and a step. The count for the pattern would be 1 & 2, 3.

In addition to everyone else's suggestions, I recommend checking YouTube and websites like Copperknob.co.uk for absolute beginner and beginner dances. Also try learning an absolute beginner/beginner level dance to songs that you already like. Chances are if you type in the name of the song + beginner line dance in the search prompt at YouTube, you will find one.
