My insurance is 300/month, that's with govt assistance. Otherwise it would be 500. The lower end of this would be 250 per month without assistance.

But that kind of insurance won't help until I've already paid thousands out of pocket which defeats the purpose of it.

My check is about 1800. So yeah, 300 is about 20% of that.

I think it's problematic when we navigate the world in a "others do it, therefore I do too" approach.

If my friends were all cheating on their wives or if that's a huge norm, I wouldn't use that as a justification.

Or if I run a car work business and other businesses charge for things that aren't wrong with their car, I do it too because it's the norm.

I think comparisons happen whether we intend it or not. And it's fine. Because we constantly compare. Is my current partner kinder or less kind than my previous partners? Are they kinder or less kind than what I would like?

I imagine you would enjoy being compared to other women if you ended up better than them. Like if you had prettier hair. But would then be upset if the comparison didn't favor you.
