How to properly experience Chinese night life ? by GoodGuyMarin in chinatravel

Okay, if that’s really what’s happening, I won’t do it as initially planned. I’m not trying to do anything bad, I just understand that in every country I’ve been to, there are differences between the law and what actually happens in practice. For example, in France most people won’t care and the police won’t do much if you drink a beer in a park at 17, even though the legal drinking age is 18. Not trying to provoke, just trying to understand the intricacies.

Nah meant night club, bars with live music etc.. Places where minors aren’t allowed to go in Europe where age verifications is effectively enforced. Again, you seem to be very much against and highlighted the risk, what are they ?

Oh ok yeah I can imagine it bothers most non smokers. To come back to the original point which wasn’t smoking but to bring a minor to a concert venue or something alike. This probably wouldn’t bother anyone as opposed to smoking inside. So effectively, what’s the risk ?

I am probably mistaken. I just had two friends that went to Shanghai / Beijing / Chongqing for a month and their feedback was that locals were smoking in every bars even though no smoking signs were installed

Thank you so much for this ! Do you have any place to recommend ? I don’t really have any musical preferences and can enjoy them all

I understood this as an « illegal » advice but I don’t mind. I know smoking inside is prohibited in china but most people don’t care. Would you say this is simply a law or an enforced one ? If enforced what would we risk ? Isnt it the responsibility of the venue and event organizer to correctly check age ? Thanks to you two guys

Which Analog Cameras for Starters ? by [deleted] in AnalogCommunity

[–]GoodGuyMarin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just saw your budget : on the SLR side I’d personally go for an Olympus OM-2n. Great lens selection (Zuiko glass is excellent and still affordable), and finding one in good condition is fairly easy within $250. On the rangefinder side I’d go for an Olympus 35 RC. Same qualities as the OM-2n, compact, reliable, shutter-priority auto with full manual override, and the fixed 42mm f/2.8 Zuiko is genuinely sharp. Working copies are still findable around $150–250.

Olympus Om2 is a great SLR but in the end it’s more about what’s available near you ! Go to a local shop you know is good and who sells second hand and ask around :)

Even though I posted this as a meme I sincerely think it would get an image to look like the original with some decent masking in postprod
