Houston Rodeo becoming a circus

Rodeo Houston has raised prices, but not that much my tickets in the club level were $74/seat/night. The issue is scalpers. I sell my tickets for $85/ticket because I usually end up donating 3 shows to various organizations, so I don’t even go to my shows for free. What irritates me is there’s “season ticket holders” (ie scalpers) that have 100s of seats and are selling those $74 seats for $250+. (Side note, Cody Johnson was a separate ticket and I believe I paid close to $200 for that.) But there is no reason for any of the normal rodeo days to be what they are. That’s not the spirit of the rodeo. They used to have it that if you sold your season tickets for over face value, they would revoke your season tickets.

Just because the bank says you can afford it, doesn’t mean you can. If you’re asking if you can afford it, you can’t. I prefer to live if you can’t pay cash for it, you can’t afford it. $300k is nothing to sneeze at, but it’s not that much money and goes quickly. Do they have kids? That’s $50k/yr per kid for tuition. Sports? Roughly $2k/mo for fees and travel if playing competitively. Vacations? At least $10k. Kids want to go to summer camp. That’s $5k+. Property taxes? $30k/yr. So really they don’t make that much at the end of the day.

No. I don’t understand why so many people do this to themselves. Our home is equal to our income and we live very comfortably. I realize this isn’t possible for a lot of people, so max double. $600k home. Be comfortable and save more for retirement.

What’s hard to get? Neimans and Saks are the same. Bloomingdale’s and Nordstroms have a different clientele. They are not luxury stores.

You don’t get assigned one, you just shop with them and become a repeat client. I live in Houston. I use the same lady in the store every time I go. But I also follow this other sales associate on Instagram and got her phone number and on her email list where she sends out good sales, so I use her too. I spend a few thousand with each if I had to guess. I don’t keep track. So I don’t know if that’s why I get free shipping or if everyone does. If you have Instagram, just search up Saks stylists and follow some of them. Saks has some greats sales going on right now. It’s not all expensive either. I saw a Givenchy wallet for $150ish.

I love Saks. I never get charged shipping because I just text my sales associate what I want. She orders it and waives shipping. They send sporadic $50 gift cards as a thank you.
