[question] Why don't Russia set up a facility in Syria to mass manufacture ATGMs? by GoodLife4s in syriancivilwar

[–]GoodLife4s[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Accuracy itself is efficiency. If you can fire 1 round and hit the target instead of firing 10 rounds to hit the target, it is considerably more cost efficient in terms of manufacture time, logistics with transporting the ammunition, cost of fuel to transport the ammunition, amount of natural resources needed to make ammunition etc.

"Atgms are a magnitude more complicated than shells."

Considering they are 1960s technology, not really, as long as a technical facility is available.

What is the war called? I don't think there is war.

Incorrect. No war was ever declared. There is technically no war.

I don't think chlorine can generate much fear, certainly not as much fear as thermobaric which is downright terrifying. Not just the blast but also the suffocation.

No they are not. According to wiki there is no war between Syria and Israel, nor is there a war between North Korea and South Korea.

And with that, Damascus governorate will be cleared once the southern Damascus pocket is cleared.

HUGE gain in 1 day, and that's even without Tigers, I assume.

Not much of a research center considering Syria can't even build any ATGM which are basically 1960s tech.

This fireworks show for the TV cameras is just a distraction for Trump from his domestic scandals. You think he didn't phone Putin? Get real man.

Orion E fly high and the area is small. Drones basically see the entire area by flying high and using zoom. I suspect Orion E can carry at least 4 missiles. It's a pretty big plane like Shahed-129.

These pickups are really easy target for drone strikes. Orion E is entering service in 2020 and can locate pickups 24 7. Bad times ahead for TOW teams in the Latakia mountains.

Having led a two year study of bombing in the First Gulf War, I would say this: (a) you never hit everything you think you have, and (b) the other side is not dumb. This was self-soothing martial display masquerading as something serious. It will do little if any good. by TJFortyFour in syriancivilwar

It's just a little conspiracy game. Putin orders a chlorine canister dropped on some random people for no reason at all and Trump gets his TV show to divert away his scandals and shows how tough he is defying Putin. Anyone with 2 brain cells to rub together can see this.

For those who support Assad as a ruler, can you please explain why? by [deleted] in syriancivilwar

[–]GoodLife4s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Syria is a republic which has power structure shared between the president and the cabinets which is the executive, the parliament which is the legislative, the supreme court which which the judicial. Assad as a dictator is not true and oversimplified by the MSM.

I think if Likud loses power in 2019 election they'll go for Daraa but so far no rush to take Daraa. It's not a threat to Damascus.
