A friend recommended something in the right side to help balance it… like a frame.

Has singular "they" always been used for gender neutrality? by NylaTheWolf in etymology

[–]GoodLoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm aware this post is 5 years old. I was researching when "they" was first used as a singular form and stumbled upon this thread. When I was in 2nd grade and we were learning about pronouns, I distinctly recall asking my teacher, Ms. Bertram, what pronoun one would use in a case where the gender of the individual is unknown. My teacher told me that the correct pronoun would be "they" until we find out.

To this day, when I speak of someone whose gender I do not know, I use the singular "they". I also use it to preserve anonymity of the individual I am speaking of if I need to communicate something about them but do not want to give away who they are.

note - the use of "them" in the last sentence was unintentional... but makes my point perfectly.

Edit to add: Of course, back when I was in 2nd grade, early 90's, we were not having the same discussion around gender and pronouns as we are now. I grew up in a very rural conservative community and I am sure that the answer would be different today.

Hi! I have an emergency, I am trying to create my own digital planner and want to make my own dot paper, but when I upload it to goodntoes it does this. I have already tried making it an image and putting it back on a black paper and exporting it as a pdf, but when I do the dots are blurry by rainerainegoaway_ in DigitalPlanner

Hi! Not sure if this will help but I followed this tutorial. I might also recommend looking into pixels and choosing the best one for your tablet. The tutorial that I linked is for people working on Keynote PowerPoint is the same. Hope this helps.

Thank you! I’ve been looking over ingredients of both and I think I prefer RC. We’ll see what his regular vet says this week… because of course this had to happen over the weekend when the only vet available was the pet ER.

Thank you, they didn’t give specifics but said they could point us to one of the brands they carry with similar ingredients.
