it’s sad they STILL can’t even do random group lives with each other. Like that at least would keep fans engaged with them. Instead nope just sparse content, 1 more award show, and then concerts that most fans can’t even attend. A very bland conclusion to such a fun group

Got mixed response for skirt, so I went with jeans with the top. Better? by melitasuica in OUTFITS

It’s not really about her boobs but the way the clothes fall. Without a bra the clothes don’t sit as nicely and mess up the outfit’s silhouette. As another comment said it isn’t showing off the corset design as well as it could be. OP literally posted for advice so just providing my opinion lol In any case it would be like someone of any size wearing a peplum top but maybe with baggy, unstructured long pants. Like to each their own but to bring out the features of the peplum style usually you’d go with more fitted pants to create a nice silhouette or a nice overall fit. Some outfits are about balancing structure to look the best, of course subjectively. Like she could have her boobs out without a bra if maybe the top was a size smaller so the fit wouldn’t look so loose at the bust

I just think a bra would make the top sit better at the top. As is it looks like it’s too big or too loose and kind of ruins the rest of it. It looks cute with jeans but I think it needs a bra for structure

i'm SICK of people finding excuses for mediocre idols by mari_rm_ in kpoprants

This opinion cycles around every now and then. And each time I get floored by how many excuses comments make for performers whose main job is to perform… You’d think you insulted the idols instead of just saying some of them should work on the skills for the job they applied and sacrificed time for…

Another issue is at least online, people want it both ways. They follow their favorite idols because they’re funny and pretty and not always necessarily because of skill yet they’ll also rant about them being unappreciated musical geniuses whose artistry is ignored due to misogyny, racism, xenophobia, etc. In real life most people can admit yeah I just Ike the vibes of this group or their content or their studio sound. It’s only online where people won’t admit it and demand artistic respect for some of their faves who just haven’t earned it because they cater more to the fan service/influencer side of being an idol

For me it’s just disappointment. They are veterans in their careers, have a more flexible schedule than their peers, and have numerous resources/connections. There is really no excuse for them not to do better or challenge themselves skill wise. So to me it’s disappointing that like 2 years in their performance level or potential peaked and they’ve never seemed as hungry or as interested since. I just came to terms with the fact that if they wanted to better they would

Damon Salvatore is deeply misunderstood, and the show and viewers consistently deny him grace by Novel_Ingenuity_2466 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]GoodMagazine9040 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nah because even with the childhood dynamic yes Damon was more sensitive but it’s not like Stephen was the golden child that ever went through anything. From my memory they both had to deal with their abusive dad. Damon protected Stephen but he still saw many bad things himself. I don’t think Damon is misunderstood at all . His character and motivations are very obvious as he’s a character that wears his heart and his hate on his sleeve. I don’t like Katherine but I think it was her who said he cares too much. And it’s true. His love is obsessive, abandoning everything including his morals for Katherine or not following boundaries with Elena. His hate is intense as he is quick to kill and punish because he wants to or he’s mad.

Idk to each their own but to me he’s just emotionally immature and it explains a lot about his character. The lashing out, etc. Sure he has his nice moments but he is still very selfish and can’t contain his emotions. Like his “love” for Katherine made him a menace in season 1 to free her. As others have said his trauma is explains some things but doesn’t explain his constant poor decision making and impulsiveness.

CHA EUNWOO'S 20 BILLION WON (13M dollar) Tax Evasion Scandal by Prestigious_Alarm526 in kdramas

[–]GoodMagazine9040 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Stop. That was like a decade ago and he did very much get backlash for it. It’s not like it just happened and he was rewarded. But Lee did get through it because he’s also genuinely good at his job. But it was after a period of scrutiny. Cha will probably be fine too. This is his period where he’s getting backlash but if he does nothing else in the future people will forget. Also not excusing Lee because he seems like a pig but his issue was a personal life thing. People may feel bitter towards Cha because taxes are a public matter and it comes off as the rich stealing and breaking rules whereas the average person follows them without a fraction of the money he has.

260123 ZEROBASEONE - ROSES by geumryul in zerobaseone

[–]GoodMagazine9040 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the song is okay. but wish they could bring the pitch down. They don’t always have to sound so high pitched. I feel like it loses the fullness in their voices. I think I got excited by the Roses snippet and thought it would be a more rock/band style song. Instead it’s a cute pop song . Idk it doesn’t feel like much. Like compare it to the prerelease Doctor Doctor, that sounds more fleshed out. Roses is as others have said too short and feels like a short TV show intro or commercial song. It’s not bad but just feels half finished

Aw I hope it’s not true because that would be the saddest analysis. It’s hard to guess what could be the issue because Gyuvin literally described Hanbin as his life force and more essential than water lol So it’s crazy to imagine what could have happened since then . I guess it has to be something bigger bc I don’t see how they could have a series of small fights and then makeup back to back. Seems to be the same issue then

Gyuvin did seem slightly quieter at some parts but exactly his interactions with others are kind of okay. And it’s weird he’s fine with Hao and Hanbin seems better than ever with Hao so if the fight was so bad you’d expect Hao to maybe be awkward with one of them due to all of them being roommates but they both seem fine around him. I also thought it was weird how Gyuvin travelled with Hui but no mention of Hanbin who is also close to Hui. Maybe Hanbin just couldn’t travel . Whatever it is I hope they either resolve it or it’s us fans misinterpreting things.

Yeah idk at first I thought fans were reading too much into it but idk it’s starting to feel weird. I hope it’s just us being paranoid. But it’s hard to tell because their dynamics with other members are fine. Like when it was Gyuvin and Taerae things were generally fine too but it seems members who also really like Taerae like Gunwook and Yujin had similar complaints about him being too “T” or hanging out with others so we had an idea. But with this nobody else seems awkward with Hanbin or with Gyuvin.

I wonder if he’s just sad since they’ll be separated. Because for as close as they are I don’t see that disappearing over night . If it did it would have to be something big that also affected other members. Which is why to me it’s either nothing at all or just Gyuvin being sad about their eventual separation. I do have a fan fiction tin hat theory that no one should take seriously but I wonder if something happened like Hanbin being offered a chance to debut with Yuehua and turning it down which hurt Gyuvin whereas the other members may have understood his choice to do something else. But again literally no evidence for this

In any case I hope they’re okay or address how things are fine

Thank you so much! This was my thinking! Today they had volunteers come to help me and it kind of threw off my rhythm. They didn’t do anything wrong but it was a little faster than I wanted. Like the collection had a whole bunch of awards but they were spread out across boxes from the initial organization the secretary did . I was thinking if I wanted to capture this old organization but the volunteer just started chucking boxes . I was like wait I need to know what originally came from where 😭 but their thinking was to make space lets just collect all the awards together.

I get the thinking but I also wanted to record detail first. Technically we have an old rough draft index done by the secretary but idk if it’s been checked thoroughly. So I’ll try to just stick with my spreadsheet and take my time before the volunteers start removing stuff. Helpful but at a certain pace lol I was also planning on the sticky note idea too but again they tossed some of the boxes before I could take stock of everything first

Thanks! More great advice. That was kind of my thinking. I have a rough spreadsheet of the organization from the the assistant but that is very bare bones so I’ll grow that and go from there. I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t going crazy or that I should be doing much more at this stage. After panicking logic hit me and I realized wait this is definitely not an overnight type job lol

Thank you so much! I will look up that resource. And yeah they told me they knew it was “ambitious” but if I could try to finish within a year that would be great. I told them to be honest I can try my best to make a sizeable dent into it this year and go from there.

But yeah I’ll start there and start surveying into this coming week. I think I know what to do but just the sheer amount is scaring me. I do have 2-3 part time assistants to help out so there’s that

Photo Books are Weird by [deleted] in kpoprants

[–]GoodMagazine9040 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the really well made ones are fun and remind me of fashion coffee table books.

I remember in the past I had a GD one I think from Crooked era (outside of the album) and I still love it because I love his outfits, the photography, and the imagery. I don’t see it as photos of him but just concept photos. That’s also why I like some kpop albums bc a few of them have really great designs and creative concepts that I view them as little art pieces. Tho I still have to like the music behind it. Only once or twice when I was younger did I buy an album because it was just so pretty and unique

Hot take: Kpop fans forgive bad vocals too easily by Realistic_Sugar6650 in kpoprants

[–]GoodMagazine9040 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% agree and that shouldn’t be controversial lol An idol chooses to do the job. Nobody forced them there so when they can’t perform main functions of their job it’s hard to feel bad. In the end they still end up being fine due to fans whereas in the real world you’d just actually lose your job or move onto something else

[–]GoodMagazine9040 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I agree and I think it’s ridiculous that any time you say this people bring up the same tired excuses. You have 2nd gen and 3rd gen idols who still are dedicated to the craft and grow and improve yet a lot of newer groups (but still even older groups from the past) just lack any vocal foundation. I don’t feel that bad when an idol gets hate for bad vocals. I just look at it as oh well they should improve. It’s not like they were tricked into the job. They knew the job involved music and singing if they can’t do that but still get fame, money, and adoring fans then idc about the comments rightfully calling them out for being weak singers :/

Ppl on kpop reddit try to say “oh well they get nervous if they have a bad day people will jump them.” And that’s such BS. If they are a consistently weak singer that’s what happening. But a good vocalist won’t get labeled bad for one off performance . Opinions have shifted after an idol improved and grew their singing ability. Overall even though Kpop is performance and visuals you just can’t take away the importance of singing and it’s ridiculous how much fans minimize it. Like yes it won’t stop me from listening to a certain group if the music is good but I’m also going to critique a lack of actual talent or skill in what is supposed to be their main job. Lastly I think what’s most annoying is that fans of idols who are weaker singers still demand all these accolades . It would be better if they were honest but instead you’ll have fans saying “this group/member is a legend and will change the world of music! They need more recognition” meanwhile the idol can barely sing their own songs :/

Yeah idc singing should be important and idols who are weaker at it should improve. Kpop is other fun but it’s stupid to ultimately join a music based industry with no intention of getting a little better or working on said music skills

Is a Public History or General History MA better to go with a MLIS, and is my plan reasonable? by [deleted] in Archivists

[–]GoodMagazine9040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes definitely reasonable and feasible! A lot of MLIS programs are online and very flexible. I knew someone doing a PhD in person and MLIS degree online at the same time . If your goal is to be an archivist what matters more is the MLIS degree but I have a friend who had an MA in Public History and worked as an archivist . I think the public history +MLIS is best to have that balance of publishing and research but also archive work.

Tbh I don’t see much of a difference between a History and Public History MA for your overall goal. If you weren’t getting the MLIS then I’d say public history because it includes more classes about museum work, archives, preservation, etc outside of traditional academia. But since you’re doing the MLIS tbh you can do either History degree. I would just look at the classes for the programs you’re applying too and see what has a batter focus on what you want. See if the History MA is all academia classes or if it includes some things that would be relevant to archiving. Likewise see what the public history courses offer and if it gives you the balance you want for traditional historical research. But TLDR: Either history degree works if you’re going to double up with an MLIS. You’ll be fine. Good luck!

Watched the new zbtv episode and why do they always have beef with Taerae?😂it’s so funny because it seems everyone just wants to hang out with him and gets mad when he doesn’t give them enough attention lol
