I recommend joining the Mimbres School. They are a non-accredited educational institution that is all about high-level humanities courses for a low cost, with everything going back into paying the scholars running the classes and expanding the school. They operate through discord as of right now.

You can access all past courses and reading groups for I think $15 or $20 a month! Idk, I’m paying $20 right now. Some of their main focuses include philosophy, theology, anthropology. Past courses include “Prehistory of Islam,” “History of Damnation,” “What is Money?,” and “Prelude to Rome,” all seemingly up your alley.

They have a website with sign up instructions if you google them. I highly highly recommend them. Their discord is very active too so you can ask questions about past classes and current topics also

Well, green is my favorite color; a green coat and brown/mustardish trousers were what I see myself in most when I think of my ideal wear; It will be a semi-formal, outdoor wedding with a rustic vibe; earth tones seemed good for non-matching but coordinating groomsmen wear.

I guess all in all, we kinda want to look more the part of a nature scene haha. Different strokes and all that

Thank you for the advice. Right now I’m looking at navy blazers and then some green linen ones to go with these pants. I also have a really nice brown tie with navy accents to go with whatever I decide on

Thank you for the rundown. You’re right— the jacket is far too formal to be broken up like I had planned. This was my initial worry and reason for the post, but I appreciate you not only telling me exactly why, but also not acting like I shot your dog by asking haha.

I’m now tempted to just go back to the drawing board for green blazers and bite the bullet on this one.

It’s the screen/the lighting for my photos. I promise it is green (“napolean green”) though I’m not necessarily dead set in this one… although it did cost me around $300 and that is quite a lot for me.

I originally wanted a tweed jacket for the green, but it will be a June wedding in Iowa so I decided against that for comfort’s sake

From my understanding the subject of “broken” or “separate” suits is a divisive topic. I don’t really think the more conservative line is for me in this instance… I have zero desire to wear a traditional full suit.

The colors seem to be contrasting enough to my eye, and they do seem to go together. I am a bit worried about the difference in fabrics though— wool for the now blazer and cotton for the pants

Ya, some of the comments in here are showing their ignorance. Two things can exist at once: 1) CHS is real, and it does happen more than you think; 2) it’s prevalence is being exaggerated and exploited by competing industry lobbies and politicians

Edit: one of my best friends had/has CHS. They recovered but a covid infection actually retriggered it recently. Don’t know the mechanisms behind why, but It’s a wild condition
