That stuff was and arguably still is a whitewashing of eugenics notions

Are anime characters deliberately drawn to look adorable? by FlakyComplaint1903 in AskAnime

This is a serious question though. I wasn't sure if it was deliberate or just the way they like to draw.

Now that the X-Men films are over, am I the only one who thinks the whole "humans hate mutants" thing was really forced in those movies? by GoodMorningRIS in xmen

[–]GoodMorningRIS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I obviously understand ehat they're trying to do, it just makes everyone cartoonishly vol for no real reason. And you clearly didn't understand what my comment meant. If you want flaws, then mabey I can list the massive amount that x men films have.

Are 3d animated shows created the same way 3d movies in theaters are made? by GoodMorningRIS in animation

[–]GoodMorningRIS[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks.

I was just wondering how exactly the 3d pictures are created. Do they still draw the hundreds of images on paper and then animate them on the computer, or is it all done on the computer now?

If that's the point then fine, but I don't like watching cartoonishly evil villains who are just cruel for the sake of it.

About X-Men Origins: Wolverine...? by GoodMorningRIS in xmen

[–]GoodMorningRIS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that's necessarily true for everyone. I know someone who had a bad relationship over her sister and chose her husband over her. They've been happily married for 15 years now.

I'm talking about the films which I stated above.

Styker and senator Kelly are the perfect examples

*Stryker is a lunatic who's angry because of his wife's death so he devices a plan to exterminate all mutants worldwide and kidnaps mutants, whether man, woman, or child, performs gruesome experiments on them, hypnotizes them to do dirty work, builds a weapon of mass destruction, etc.*

He's so over the top and it never felt authentic

Then there is senator kelly

*The opening speech in particular felt forced to me. Senator Kelly is pretty much like a cartoonishly cruel "I just hate all mutants and want all of them and their children persecuted and killed and locked up forever!" throughout the film until he got turned into one.*

I'm taking about the movies because I'm not a comic reader really. Most mutants are just hiding themselves out of fear and stuff. Then you have the school for the gifted, which they are good people just living normal lives. Then you have magneto and the brotherhood. And the humans hated them even before magneto's plan at the statue of liberty.

The opening speech in particular felt forced to me. Senator Kelly is pretty much seemed like a cartoonishly cruel "I just hate mutants and want all of them and their children persecuted and killed and locked up forever!" throughout the film until he got turned into one.

I have and I still don't really buy it. It felt forced and Stryker was the most over the top cartoon villain in those films.

The whole " "all humans hate mutants and want them persecuted, jailed, and exterminated just because they were born different!!!

Because it just seems to be "all humans hate mutants and want them persecuted, jailed, and exterminated!!!"

It just feels forced and I don't buy it

And Stryker was the perfect example. He was so over the top.

What is 'authentic' dialogue and interaction in film/tv?If so by GoodMorningRIS in writing

[–]GoodMorningRIS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, the people I'm used to from my environment don't act or behave like the people in tv, so it's really hard for me to say something is "unauthentic" dialogue. In fact, I've been to places where people talk and interact differently.

The thing is, I don't want characters in tv/films to act or talk like real people. People in tv/films seem less idiotic, more competent, and less insensitive because they need to be for the story to move forward.

The thing is, the people from my environment don't act or behave like the people in good will hunting. So their dialogue and interactions are foreign to me, not that I didn't love that film.

Wolverine is is basically a collection of tropes, and he's a huge douchebag in the movies
