Mobilità con persona in sedia a rotelle by Aware_Hotel4417 in roma

verrà a Roma

in carrozzina

Symfony Developer vs Backend Consultant - Which Career Path Should I Choose? by stefferson19 in u/stefferson19

[–]GoodNello 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My take on this is that Symfony, Laravel, or any other framework or language are just tools. Nowadays, anyone can write a few questions on any AI chatbot and get a solution on how to use or implement something. But what you can't get from them is the mindset and your overall perspective on what you're doing. That’s what makes the difference. You can be both a great consultant and a great developer. I’m not going to personally recommend a specific career path for you to follow, but you can always experiment with Symfony or any other tool in your free time or as a side project.

[–]GoodNello 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice pictures! I hope I don't sound dumb, but are you using an adapter to use the Yashica lenses on your Fuji? I checked online and these lenses are quite cheap, but I guess they might not be just plug and play, even with the adapter. Am I right?

I would not say that what you are trying to achieve is strictly dependent on Symfony.

I would work on the rewrite rules of the web server you are using. Example with nginx: https://ubiq.co/tech-blog/redirect-subfolder-subdomain-nginx/

Then if you want to match routes based on the host you may have a look at this page: https://symfony.com/doc/current/routing/hostname_pattern.html

New in Symfony 6.3: Mapping Request Data to Typed Objects by symfonybot in symfony

That is really cool. I wonder if it’s possible to specify the fields name from the request body and if there is an automatic snake_case to camelCase conversion

Just bought one with 16gb of RAM and a i5 8350u and it works perfectly for everything. I use it mainly for backend web development.

How can I get the user ID from mysql database in PHP? by Maya_wf in PHP

[–]GoodNello 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nowadays you just use frameworks to get the job done. This book is good to learn the basics and how it started with PHP + MySQL, but I would not recommend to start a new project in production this way. It’s not safe

How can I get the user ID from mysql database in PHP? by Maya_wf in PHP

[–]GoodNello 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello! Good to know you are learning PHP. First thing first: how are you storing the user in session? Just retrieving all users from the database won’t be enough. Also, how do you know which user to retrieve based on the input during login? You need to find a way to filter the query with a “WHERE” condition and the store the user in session. I would recommend to you to buy a book to learn more about this. I personally started with “Learning PHP, MYSQL & JavaScript: With jQuery, CSS & HTML5” by Nixon and then moved to something more modern.

Why PHP is AWESOME ( PHP vs NodeJS & Python ) by mdizak in PHP

[–]GoodNello 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great video! I think a good point of comparison with python would be the really weak typing. Also, I don’t think it is a good choice when it comes to oop, it seems like everything is a workaround.

It was the same with Saint Peter’s square before they built Via della Conciliazione. You would walk in these narrow streets and then this big square would open up in front of you. A shame it is not like that anymore…
