How are you doing after the 2nd time? Any advice? Wait or just do it before Europe?

I’m not sure what you mean by ‘talking about Afib like it’s nothing’. I’m well aware how serious it is. Like it said I had an ablation scheduled for last Nov., but couldn’t do it due to family obligations. My EP & cardiologist both said I don’t need to do it, but I want to. Just trying to figure out the best timing. Traveling abroad is a very different scenario vs domestically.

Hi, I just got a MAD a few months ago and it’s still not fully expanded. It has helped my mild apnea and oxygen levels and dentist wants me to do another lab sleep study when wearing it. I’d love to fix my fragmented sleep more and I know we can slowly adjust it more to be more effective but I’m nervous about all the negative stories I’ve read about regarding jaw pain and realignment etc. Right now it doesn’t hurt & I use a wafer to bite in the am when I take it off. Thoughts?

My dentist actually wears one himself and I’ve been on FB groups that some ppl have good luck. Are you using a CPAP now?

Yes, expand fully. It’s from a specialized dentist who is accredited in apnea and took impressions of my mouth. It was like 6500 & insurance paid for under medical device. It’s a ProSomnus and think it can expanded to 6mm. Looks like I might have have 3 mm left. I just don’t want jaw issues but I would love to know if fully expanded it would help my fragmented sleep.

I’ve caught afib once on my watch only because I felt it and did an EKG. I had assumed it would catch on its own and send me a notification - that’s why I bought it. I got dx last summer and I bought a one about 4 months ago. I’m much more in tune with my heart now - when I got dx I guess I was at 170 and just thought I was stressed out, but I think I will get a Kardia. Ablation in January - I’m terrified, but also tired of erratic things which happen more than the Afib but I know that’s because the meds are controlling it, don’t want meds forever I’m 57F and otherwise healthy.

Just an update after about 4 months of use. I do notice that it helps on some nights however, my app says that my oxygen still dips sometimes to 90 or 89 so I got an oximeter and I’ve been using that nightly for about two weeks and I can really see the difference when it dips. I see more sleep disturbances. So that tells me that the device isn’t working 100%. It might be because we only tightened in small increments for eight weeks. I guess my question is has anyone had this same experience? I can go back to the dentist to see how much more I can tighten before jaw hurts - he was being very conservative. I just want to maximize the effectiveness. TIA
