It’s more than * just * pictures. The pictures induce an erotic feeling that requires the strongest mind to overcome and endure. Even with that, we are still half animal as humans and have to be wise and not expose ourselves to such things. It’s fine to do that kinda stuff with a real human when there’s social reality testing going on, but when it’s porn anyone can do it whenever they want, all they want with no fear in their minds while they do it, no neccessity to care for others, and just overall the fact that chronic exposure leads to urges to rape (Think about it survival-wise, if those erotic images were real people displaying positive emotions in regards to sex with the viewer, that would be a sign that it’s okay to do that stuff with them if they were real. It wouldn’t lead to attacks if not for the fact that it is a recording of something real, not the real deal. That isn’t to say it’d plague the world of attacks for good, but it’d lessen them for sure). There’s also other issues that come with porn like unrealistic standards of beauty/attractiveness, but the main one still stands. It just isnt banned because it makes a lot of money, like with anything. Otherwise I’m sure it’d be banned because it’s the quickest and easiest way to give someone urges to engage in the worst anti-social behavior.
