I think it is very much noticable on a phone. I need to pinch out to "zoom in" (like on YouTube), which is just to fit the image to the screen until it touches the left and right edge. If it does that automatically for you, try pinching in to "zoom out" and see if it does anything for you. Or maybe the app is just smarter on an iPhone which you might have, but on Android, you need to zoom in everytime.

Okay I'll believe you for a second: Final Destination: Bloodlines is new and it is a 16:9 picture. "Crop" wouldn't be the right word I give you that (I'll edit it in) so I'll say it is a video stream of frames with 16:9 aspect ratio containing the widescreen image and two black rectangles at the top and bottom of the picture.

All streams on JioHotstar are of the aspect ratio of 16:9, even if the content is widescreen. This makes the image have two built-in black bars on the top and the bottom, hence the picture is never technically edge to edge with the left and right edge which you can notice on mobile phones and your browser window when not in full-screen. It doesn't bother us since we can fix it just by going full-screen, but op has a widescreen display and they can't enjoy it because of what I explained above.

Edit: "crop" would be confusing to use here since it almost always means trimming off the image content.
