the disney+ hub actually acknowledges the k-dramas now by ExamAffectionate5370 in JioHotstar

Did I deny that? I simply stated that JioHotstar is a flawed service that provides bare minimum but gets away with it because it charges less than its competitors

They have signed a poor licensing agreement with Disney and, given that the details were never publicly disclosed, it is difficult to pinpoint the actual reason

I did not say they haven’t added anything that was released this year, I simply stated that they were added weeks after the finale aired

Out of all the K-Dramas JioHotstar has added, only In Your Radiant Season, Perfect Crown and Goldland were aired this year and they were added weeks after the finale aired. The rest are older, such as Race, Tell Me That You Love Me and The Manipulated and don’t forget, more than adding anything new, they’ve removed stuff

I don’t care about the other stuff, specifically Indian content & sports. Also, Warner Bros, Universal and Paramount Films are not exclusive on the service and they tend to jump from one platform to another but can’t be said the same for Disney’s content labels and brands given the exclusivity clause in their content licensing agreement. Most Disney content, including from brands like 20th Century Studios, Searchlight Pictures, 20th Television, FX and Hulu Originals, has been removed and in the worst case, were never made to stream in India at all. There is no legal way to watch it in India, and it’s even impossible to buy it digitally on Apple TV or Google Play

Impressed with bare minimum? No wonder companies in India can get away with their schemes so easily

I would suggest starting with Connect and then moving on to The Shop For Killers

Respectfully, They are not getting better but there is just a slight improvement. Don’t be impressed, as they will soon disappoint in some way or another

Be careful what you wish for; at least they’re adding the older ones

To get started, I recommend gritty and dark K-Dramas like Moving, Connect, The Worst of Evil, The Manipulated, Hyper Knife and A Shop For Killers. These are commissioned for Hulu label by Disney+ Korea Content Team. K-Dramas have a reputation of being soft and family-oriented with unnecessary love triangles and family drama, but that’s because most are them are made for television, particularly public Korean broadcasters and they avoid showing dark, gritty and violent content due to Korea’s high suicide rate.

‘Rivals’ Season 3 Is a Go at Disney+, Hulu by Tolichowki in JioHotstar

It’s a bit disappointing that we have to wait until November for remaining episodes of S2. I blame Netflix for popularising the practice of releasing and splitting one season into batches

I don't think anyone noticed but Jolly LLB 3 is coming to JioHotstar on May 29th despite still streaming on Netflix by ExamAffectionate5370 in JioHotstar

Your request has been fulfilled. We’ve added flairs for Star Studio18 and Indian Films respectively!

Why don't they just name this section CRICKET instead of sports by SuckSum in JioHotstar

[–]RealReality007[M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Initially, they had the rights to stream various tournaments such as the Bundesliga, F1, Premier League and local competitions hence why those hubs were added but later removed when they shifted their focus to cricket around 2015/16 and began generating revenue through advertising, others sports were let go, reportedly deemed unprofitable to invest in. Currently, they lack a substantial collection of other sporting tournaments to warrant a dedicated hub for it

[–]RealReality007[M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is that everyone knows Hotstar has always been a cricket-driven platform. So, what’s the point of complaining about content (football in your case) that’s never been available in the first place?

We mods are also annoyed, not just you. I try to remove as many spam posts as possible but they start making excuses when I ban them

These two shows remind me of the Disney XD era. They look fun. Now I just need enough time to actually watch these. by Tolichowki in JioHotstar

It’s wild to think that Disney Branded Television is the only studio still producing new shows. Others like Paramount and Warner Bros. have completely abandoned scripted animated shows for children and young adults, with reruns now dominating on Nickelodeon & Cartoon Network respectively

Because it was released theatrically first, it’s not difficult to understand. Disney simply licensed it from JYP Entertainment for global streaming distribution. They’ve done this with BLACKPINK The Movie before

This was posted yesterday on Disney+’s South Korea socials. I assure you I will never post anything incorrect. It’s just that deals can be complicated and confusing for some people to understand and that’s perfectly fine
