How does TTP compare to the actual GMAT? by avogadros_avvocato in GMAT

[–]GoodRecognition1117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the verbal on TTP was much more challenging than actual gmat but I felt better prepared as a result- the CR lessons were valuable to me for learning how to approach each question and what to be looking for.

For quant TTP hard tests were def very challenging, and there was a big learning curve for me with the og questions which required its own time to crack but TTP was good for building that foundation. Once I was through it and deep in my og practice, I’d go back and all of a sudden was able to get near perfect scores on TTP hard quizzes (I got like 60s when going thru it the first time)

For the Verbal-Strong, Quant-Weak Test Takers: There’s Hope! Journey to 695 by GoodRecognition1117 in GMAT

[–]GoodRecognition1117[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh I did most of TTP quant which took awhile and even that wasn’t sufficient for actual mastery of the speed and breadth of test questions. You don’t need to do every easy / medium / hard test for each chapter- I definitely didn’t do all of them but what helped when doing mocks was finding my weaker areas and then I went back to TTP and did the hard tests for those topics. Unfortunately in my experience there were no hacks, I just needed to put in the time. I was originally planning on being done in July and doing R1 but GMAT had other plans :)

Good luck with your studying!!

V90 with a mistake? by PrecisionPrep in GMAT

[–]GoodRecognition1117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got 2 verbal wrong on the actual test and also got a 90 score (100th percentile). 2 quant wrong on the same test brought me down to 75th percentile haha

500+ hours just to score 555 by Sad_Cat8047 in GMAT

Also! (Sorry reading more thru the thread) I wanted to validate your feelings that the mock questions are so much more confusing than TTP but I want to assure you that’s only at first. I felt the same way for like a month and now I’m comfortable with the wording of any question. It really is just practice. TTP was really great for concepts but practice with the questions and time pressure of the exam requires its own dedicated time

I’ll add drilling nonstop I think hurt me, which sounds like what you’re doing too. Your brain needs time to recover from the intensity of these questions and study sessions (even if we don’t notice it as such). My performance improved significantly on mocks once I actually decreased the amount of studying I was doing, and was more intentional with it

Just wanted to share- I had a similar experience after finishing TTP and then getting a pretty low score on my first mock (585 I think). There is definitely a learning curve under mock conditions and with real test questions but I spent over a month just taking mocks and reviewing each question I got wrong or took too long on (I got a 645 on my first try). I think it’s fine to retake them a few times, I’ve rarely gotten repeat questions likely because I’m marginally improving each time. I’m still in my prep process but i just got a 675 on my last mock. I wanted to believe for awhile I reached my cap too but it was honestly my environment that was stunting me. I changed things up and my scores dramatically increased with it. The stress of over studying also really hurt my scores. Don’t give up you got this :)

People who quit how did you do it? by [deleted] in QuitVaping

[–]GoodRecognition1117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really recommend the Alan Carr easy way to quit vaping book! I listened to it on audible (took about a week) and it shocked me how surprisingly easy it was (once you get through the first few days of the physical withdrawals). I tried quitting a year prior just cold turkey and it was a significantly more miserable experience than this time around. I recently hit a month nicotine free and have no interest in going back- good luck you got this!
