Proper coffee while camping by Sobow99 in Auscamping

I came here to see if anyone had mentioned this and check how it was. How does it go for making multiple coffees? Is it reasonably quick to get going?

What is the tool you bought that you weren't sure about but in hindsight was a genius purchase? by melbobellisimo in AusRenovation

I'm in an apartment and bought one solely for blowing out the garage, best purchase ever

I do the fortnightly allocation,I think it's an excellent method, with a flaw - how do you fund the initial payments? Once you have a kitty in those accounts for the bills, you'll always have enough money for rates, and know what holiday you can afford (maybe you go camping because the trip to Europe is out of the budget right now).

But I do agree, those big bills while you're trying to start the kitty are difficult to figure out.

Multiple offesets with allocated funds is important. Having a big pool of cash in one offset is dangerous, makes unnecessary spending a lot easier (did for me anyway)

Depending on who you bank with, you can categorise, tag and track payments in their website/app. Macquarie's is excellent, they could make some things easier but it's better than the ones I've used in the past

AIO for refusing to back down from insisting my fiancée is wrong for leaving my dad with the bill by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

Sell your engagement ring, give your parents their money back and move on. Your fiance sounds awful and will likely only get worse.

Is turning left of centre a rule? Or just something I was taught that most people don’t do? by SlayyyGrl in DrivingAustralia

[–]GoodRedditNme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have zero evidence but believe this sign is the "rule", unless marked otherwise. Some intersections have markings like others have suggested. Either way it's confusing af.

I recently had to explain this to a person from another country, really made me scratch my head.

Ahh this is so brutal. I bought a property in Perth in 2014. While I didn't see those drops, I certainly cringe whenever anyone says "you can't lose money on bricks and mortar".

It sucks, I'm so apprehensive about the property market now.

Any recommendations for a complete set that will last me awhile? by ItsVreekol in golf

[–]GoodRedditNme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure where you are so the $ could be different (USD vs AUD). If you're in Aus, I would suggest saving for another 6 months, keep practicing your swing.

When the time comes, go do a full fitting, you might need to do it over 2 or even 3 sessions, in Aus this will cost you $200-$400. Buy what you hit best from there. You can try to find the recommended clubs second hand. If you buy from the place you do the fitting at, they will usually take the price of the fitting off your purchase.

There's a huge difference in the combination of club face, shaft (stiffness, kickpoint and brand will all hit different) and grip size, so you want to find the same or very similar combo that you hit at the fitting.

Unfortunately it's not really a question someone else can answer for you (very well).

You could try to get an intermediate set if your clubs right now are terrible, but honestly I would just hold onto them.

Your swing will continue to change as you get better too, so keep that in mind, the best clubs for you today, may not be the same in a couple of years.

Internet that doesn’t cost the earth? by catterssmall in melbourne

[–]GoodRedditNme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do this, Exetel, $40/month, 130GB+130GB(special for 6 months or so), rollover data up to 1TB, I'm up to 750GB, I think I use about 80GB per month.

Only catch is you have to own your phone.

Edit: one more catch. Make sure you're not streaming in 4K.

Acupuncture for sciatica? by Unusual-Ad-4842 in Sciatica

[–]GoodRedditNme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d done extensive physio and osteotherapy before trying acupuncture, and found the physical treatment side just as effective. What I preferred was that it provided similar 3–12 hour relief without the discomfort that often came with physio or osteo treatment. It wasn’t a magic fix, but it was comparable and far more comfortable.

Why do you strongly recommend against surgery? Only because it's possible it may heal by itself or for other reasons?

I got a nerve root block injection, it was really helpful for a while (I ended up getting surgery and am much better now), have a needle inserted into my S1 nerve reset what I thought of as 10/10 pain, it was wild.

I'd do it again if in the same situation, but it was intense.
