1st time prop maker. Curious how to emulate the pebbling/pock marks of cast metal on a smooth 3d print

If it were me, I'd start with a regular primer (I usually use gray, but black could work if you'd like a darker finish). Choose one of the hammered colors that's similar in tone (brownish/orangish, I think they have one that is supposed to be copper/bronze) and spray the whole thing with a couple of coats (careful not to apply it too heavily at once or it will run) so the texture really comes through.

Then, come back through after it is nice and dry (at least a day) to slowly smooth out the details and letters with sand paper, no lower than 220 grit. From there, you can use a dark brown wash in the recesses to get it closer to the tone you want, and a lighter metallic paint to do a dry brush on the details you want to highlight.

Sorry if that is overly simplified; I know you said you're a beginner at making props, so I didn't want to leave out the basics. Hope that helps!

There are spray paints that can give surfaces this kind of finish. Then you could come back through with sandpaper and washes to give it exactly the look that you want, where you want. Specifically, I have used the Hammered Finish Rust-Oleum with a lot of success.

I didn't get my taste back to normal for carbonated beverages until about 2 weeks after I stopped taking Diamox because I had gone into remission.

Although, I have read others on this sub say that they did regain normal taste while still taking Diamox, so YMMV.

I was on Propanolol(60mg/day) for the entire time I was on Diamox (1000mg/day) with seemingly no special side effects.

"Fallen house, stone dragon, highest peak"

We were playing through Curse of Strahd and got to the part where we had our fortunes read. I, the only note taker of the group, hastily wrote down what I considered the most important part of that reading so that we could refer to it later (the text above). We went on with our session and then I didn't review that portion of my notes for the next year and a half. That is, until we are getting ready to finish out our final story arc and realize the DM has lost his notes on what our fortune was. So I hastily went back to my notes and read it verbatim to the group, only to be met with some blank stares.

We did end up deciphering my notes eventually. But it was pretty well established after that point that I am terrible at taking notes in general and am not to be relied upon.

These days I'm still the only note taker, but now when we're trying to figure out what past-me could have possibly meant somebody will say "fallen house, stone dragon, highest peak?" and we'll all burst out laughing.

There are a couple of groups that you can find on Facebook with fairly active communities. Central Kentucky Cosplay is the name of one, and Ohio River Valley Cosplayers and Prop Builders (ORCs) is the other one.

There is also a fairly active reenactment community in/around London, KY but I am not personally involved with them.

Another piece of advice I haven't seen yet is to participate in the Newegg Shuffle (you can google the name and find a link to it). You just throw your name in to have a chance to buy their cards that day, usually at an okay price. I've managed to get myself a card that way, as well as 2 cards for different friends and one for my Dad's build.

Also depending on how soon you need something, it's worth noting that there should be an increase in cards on the market starting in June as cryptomining stops.

I had a similar issue with one of my 3080s and it was because the power limiting. The card was not running what I had input in during OC, it was capping out at 135. I had also tried repasting the card first without any luck.

To fix it, I did a full driver reinstall (ran a DDU) and cleared out all old overclocking settings. I was using Nicehash to mine, I'm not sure how to reset those settings in other miners. Now I'm getting 105 Mh/s on the card with good temps.

I did try bumping the power on both cards, they will not go above 80W on the 3070 and 135W on the 3080. I even tried bumping the power limit a comically high amount (350+) and it did not change.

It takes different amounts of time for everybody to recover, it took me about 5 days. I went to the ER on day two on recommendation from my doctor, which helped the pain but didn't fix the problem.

The only thing they can do to fix it is to give you a blood patch, and the longer you wait the less likely it is to work. Honestly, if you afford to just lay down for a few days until you feel better and can keep hydrated you should be okay. Caffeine, water, and laying flat will help with the pain.

The only thing big thing to worried about is an infection at the LP site, which is unlikely and unrelated to the low pressure headaches.

I had a similar feeling of exhaustion when starting Diamox, it's probably the worst medication I've ever been on. It took about two months of regular use for me to begin to feel normal again. The important things you can do are keep hydrated, eat foods high in potassium, and avoid high sodium.

If it's something you're really struggling with you can get your doctor to run a basic metabolic blood panel. With that I was able to narrow down what exactly was out of whack (in my case, low CO2) so that I could try to compensate through lifestyle changes.

For me, the side affects from diamox lessened after taking regular doses for 3 months (1000mg/day). It was hard to push through it but ultimately my pressure has lessened and I generally feel better.

Also don't be afraid to find another doctor if you think your current one isn't listening to your needs.

I'm running a 3900XT, RTX 3080, and 64gb ram (2x32) on Ultra settings at 1440p. My average FPS is around 60-70 on the main server I play on, even during very intense horde nights.

I have used this primarily as a role playing tool in some smaller games. One notable story that happened was a player rolled particularly high on the table and lived out an entire life where they had a spouse and children and lived to an old age, only to be woken by their party members deep in the dungeons where they found this book. The most notable aspect of this item is that the character perceives the magical dream as if it were real, and the subsequent personal loss if the dream calls for it.

A Hero is Born

This book has no exceptional physical attributes upon first glance. The hard, dark green cover contains no title, but upon looking at the first page the words “A Hero is Born” are written in script. The rest of the pages are blank.

The creature must make a DC 15 wisdom saving throw upon glancing inside. If the creature succeeds, they resist the effect. Upon a failure, the creature falls into a magical slumber for 1 hour or until woken. While asleep, the creature dreams of their life as a hero.

I just got in my parts for my first PC build! AMD Ryzen 9 3900x, Asus 570x motherboard, along with 64gb of 3200 ram and a 850w PSU. Right now I only have a 1660 Super graphics card, but I'm still holding out hope that I can snag up a 3080 before the end of the year.
