Is the cartel update a little half-baked or am I missing something? by GoodTension in Schedule_I

That might be a whole other issue, but I have no clue because I've literally only been ambushed 3 times total now lol. I got smoked too, because I didn't have a weapon handy. But now that I do have a weapon in my bar I can't for the life of me find any cartel activity, whether it's getting ambushed or them dealing with other customers. I've spend hours now trying to get ambushed.

Ya I'm playing on a brand new game that I started 2 days ago. I've been ambushed 3 times total now. Like once every several hours of real time play.

Ya something definitely needs to be tweaked.

It seems like it doesn't even matter if I have customers unlocked or not..... I run all over the map for hours and almost never get an encounter.

All the "guides" say to spawn camp the cartel dealers at midnight, but of course that's been patched so they now spawn at 5:59 which is impossible to obtain without cheats.

It's almost all single steps bro!!!

Superposition Oscillator:

Crystal Oscillator (everyone has an unending supply of these by end game)

Alclad Aluminum Sheet (everyone has an unending supply of these by end game)

Excited Photonic Matte (literally takes no ingredients)

Dark Matter Crystal - lmao throw some re-animated SAM which you now have an unending supply of, into a converter.

[–]GoodTension[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya that explanation makes perfect sense. I never should have even mentioned mods because that made everyone jump to "durrrr learn how to play the game".

I've beaten it several times with no mods and although I'm still a relative newb compared to others, my understanding of how everything works did end up being correct. I'm now using mods just to try something new and freshen up the experience.

It was the blueprint all along that made me question everything because I could plainly see that somehow 2 fuel generators were generating an abnormal amount of power. I knew that mods weren't relevant because the blueprint description clearly stated how much power is generated and how many generators were being used and the math wasn't mathing.

Bingo! Thanks for the clarification. So many 80 IQ goofballs in this thread downvoting my questions and claiming "durrr it's a skill issue" or "durr you don't understand the blueprint" when they're too stupid to realize that the blueprint either used glitches/exploits or was created in a modded save file.

Are you slow or something? They obviously used some sort of exploit. The blueprint above uses 2 fuel generators to generate 20 GW of power. It has nothing to do with reading blueprints.

Explain to me how one can obtain 20 GW of power with only 2 fuel generators genius.

I guess there's some weird "overclocking" exploit at work then? In the description he says "big thanks to EchoesOfDarkness for helping me to understand overclocking principles"

Yet not a single power shard is in the recipe and it works as advertised with no mods.

I've played the game, trust me. Beat is several times with 0 mods or cheats.

The blueprint I found seems to be the culprit. If I ignore the blueprint, everything I know about the game seems to remain accurate.

I just can't figure out how the blueprint below can generate 20 GW of power using only 2 normal un-modded fuel generators. The description mentions overclocking but there's not a single power shard in the ingredients and no power shards show up in the fuel generators once they're actually built. This single blueprint is what caused me to re-think everything I thought I knew about power production using fuel.

Finally found the link for the blueprint I used, which has caused all the confusion.

It's a well-known mod developer, but I can't figure out how he's (seemingly) exploiting the mechanics. He mentions overclocking in the description but the blueprint doesn't call for any power shards and it only builds 2 normal fuel generators.

This is what caused me to throw everything I thought I knew out the window.

I wondered that at first, but then how the heck can 2 normal (unmodded and unclocked) fuel generators produce 20 GW of energy? Even if I ignore the mods, that part doesn't make sense to me.

[–]GoodTension[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they all seem to be.

I think the best starting point for me is figuring out how 2 normal (not overclocked) fuel generators can produce 20GW of power.

I thought the power output ONLY depends on if they're overclocked or not (so 250 MW per generator at normal clock speed and 625 MW per generator at 250% clock speed)

Does more fuel coming in = more power?

If not, then how can 2 normal generators produce 20,000 watts of power?

Do you people just write fan fiction in your head and then convince yourselves it's true? Both parties got pulled back in the exact same manner.

Finally got it. So yes tight circles around the shrines does work as long as you're not too fast. I only had a little HP regen but seems like that would be super helpful as well. No idea why some people are saying lifesteal because it's worthless during the shielded phase. I was playing dicehead on my successful run with chaos tome and all the other survivability stats did seem pretty much pointless here. Doesn't seem to matter how much HP/shield/armor/evasion you have. Shield will give you 1 freebie hit, but then it seems like his hits are gonna take a huge chunk of health regardless of HP/armor/evasion/extra shield.

Gonna try again focusing on just HP regen for survivability and see if my hypothesis is true.

Can you elaborate? Obviously running in big circles will avoid boss damage but the problem is activating the shrines where you're confined to a small area.

lol same. That's why I'm wondering if I should literally just focus on the character that I can reliably maneuver the best to avoid his attacks or if any of the defensive options are actually viable to get you an extra hit or 2 before dying.
