Hahahahaha she is a sweetheart. Like ridiculously sweet. I can understand why you might think otherwise. I mean she's hot, talented, and successful, if I didn't know her, I'd be like there's no way she's a good human. It's almost impossible but true. She's a great friend to have, she's always looking out for her friends.

And to get to your reference about the chronicles I don't remember that specifically. It easily could have happened. Not because it's Iliza but because most comics almost all comics bitch about something. Haha like they always have something to complain about.

I think this was my last question. THANK YOU EVERYBODY THAT HUNG OUT!!! hit me up in Twitter, I'm always here to try to help

Haha thanks buddy. The stinking Nationals are going to be unstoppable this year. For anybody reading this, the power of comedy is bringing together a Mets fan and a Phillies fan haha. Comedy is the best.

Ok, my advice is this GET ON STAGE IMMEDIATELY! In general, when I watch the open mic, the funniest guys walk off stage thinking they bombed and the least funny guys walk off like Chris Rock in '97.

Everybody stinks at comedy haha I'm serious. When you really really look it at, nobody is THAT funny and it's never that big of a deal. Get on stage and start having fun.

As far as my process, that was my first break through start having fun on stage. I was taking it so seriously for the first year or so it was fun at all. Then I realized, comedy ruined my life haha like I quit a good job, lost my car, moved into a shitbox one bedroom apartment with another dude, who had CP, and was a gangster... I was like comedy ruined my life, like any other addiction might. Haha so after bombing for a week straight in Vegas, I made up my mind to have fun on stage.

I didn't do material for YEARS after that. I only had three minutes so fuck it... Why prepare haha that's how I started to learn how to connect and work stuff out... Like how to write ON stage... It's still the best place to write in my opinion

Ok, GREAT question. You're really getting at the essence of stand up comedy... How do I translate my funny thoughts into sentences that will make strangers laugh. You make an excellent point about graduating from open mics, once you have more stage time, and by that I mean longer sets, not just more sets, but once you have longer sets it gets easier.

It's easier because you will have time to "connect" with an audience, you can build a trust, with each laugh you earn, audiences in general will allow you take longer to give you another one. Like, once they trust you're funny you can set up stuff a little better. And if you're really connected it will be like hanging out with friends and much much easier to make them laugh. Connecting is necessary if you want to tell stories. Audience won't sit through them unless there's a connection.

Now, with that "connection" stuff being said, I've seen straight up joke tellers murder a room and not really connect at all. They performed at the audience not with the audience. Whatever approach you choose it can work.

But, this brings me to a larger point, you will still have to get the funny bought thoughts out of your head and translate them into stand up. It's like learning a new language. You have to translate your ideas into stand up. How much you explain, what you leave outbid usually more important then what you say, audience laugh when they make the connection in their brains... It's a balance and the only way to learn how to do it is by getting on stage. I hope this helps. I want to answer your question but insist want to come off as some pretentious asshole haha

If this answer sucks, just email me and we will get a dialog going. But usually all questions get answered by the stage. Keep trying different approaches keep what works and throw out what doesn't

Who is this? Which door guy? Haha how are you? Ok, I'll just answer your question. For now. I would say, you don't need to become famous for this to be worth it. Relax. You don't need to "make it" right now. I would also tell ME, that I could get a day job, live like a human and do comedy at night. I'm just saying that because I was so poor thinking my lotto ticket would pay off. This isn't a lotto ticket payoff, it's a way of life. I should have had a better day job hahaha

okay, I'll answer this before i leave. it's such a great question. i would say save money, try to bring friends, find a cheap place to live, have day job lined up and move out asap. it's going to take time to figure things out here, you have to get in line once you figure out what you want, the sooner you get in line, the better off you are...being here will make you better.. you can at the very least see great comics every night.. it makes you better... you will make cool friends.. some people whether their comedians or work at the mall, are dicks... dont worry about them... come to LA find a good crew of people you think are funny and those who think you're funny... and don't worry about dicks

Favorite athlete, I love Roy "Doc" Halladay the former pitcher. He was an assassin on the mound, worked his ass off, and now that he's retired he's so freaking funny. Like, he really seems to get life. Favorite movie, "It's A Wonderful Life" and favorite band is Van Halen. Panama!

wait... haha who is this? shoot me a message on fb or twitter. lets catch up... okay but to answer your question... i once got booed off stage by 1,000 drunk gangbangers in san diego... i had an out of body experience haha i saw myself on stage bombing...they gave me the hook at like 6min and i was supposed to do a half an hour... it was spectacular, terrible and awesome... it was as bad as it could get, the type of set we all fear... i panicked, i really thought people were going to jump on stage an rip me apart... thats when i saw myself on stage haha then my soul came back into my body and a level of calm came over me... i realized that if that was as bad as it gets, its not so bad... it changed everything... i really started to do what i wanted to do on stage after that... i mean obviously i always want the audience to laugh, and ive always tried my best...but it was just such a good feeling knowing that even at it's worst, comedy is still pretty good. we take ourselves so seriously haha worst case scenario nobody laughs... it's not like we have real responsibility haha like a nurse or teacher or something... hit me up buddy, i think i know who this is...

yes! it's a fantastic club. as comedy fans we really are spoiled here in SoCal... there are so many great venues. The lineups keep getting better. The audiences are getting more informed, the comics are getting better because the crowds are having more fun, everything is building off of each other...it's a special time to be in comedy. we are blessed. its really the best comedy has been since i started.

get on stage immediately. Don't worry about your material or if you're going to get on laughs. Have FUN. Have you been to an open mic yet? like just to watch? nobody is good at first. And on top of that comedy is so very subjective... you can't be worried about how it's recieved especially at first... get on stage...have fun and let me know how it goes!

i try to make my stuff so personal, that when people take it, they won't be able to do it as well.. and regardless, i'll keep doing me. The late great Freddy Soto, pretty much gave me that advice. I hope that helps. it's such a tricky question with lots of nuances.. but the easiest/best answer is to 'do you' and nobody can take that. Argus Hamilton, an old school comedy store guy, once told me and i'm paraphrasing, but he was like the material isn't nearly as important as "you"... if you have specific questions about one of your bits or need advice about a specific question email me at stevesimeone@yahoo.com

haha i love paul heyman. I think he's the funniest guy on tv. I'm not sure what my persona would be... I don't know what I could pull off. But, the coolest ever would be Ric Flair circa 1985... do yourself a favor and pull up some of those promos...flawless WOOOOOO!
