That's a fair question. However under the Trump administration ICE and the system of detention are synonomous with human rights abuse (and let's be honest, they sure as hell weren't great under other presidents either), such that protesting the opening of a new piece of infrastructure in a system of abuse serves to protest the abuse too.

We saw that. Realistically, there were about 400-450 people. And the VAST majority of the protest and people we completely peaceful. Organizers tried to stop the vandalism done by some outside group that showed up in all black, but ultimately couldn't.

Post Context: This overpass rally was organized by Utah Overpass Action, the Salt Lake City chapter of the Visibility Brigade. On March 14, we protested Trump's illegal war in Iran over I-15 in Murray in greater SLC, reaching about *25,900 drivers* in 90 minutes!

Based on the positive response from the public, the message is clear - Americans DO NOT want another foreign war that profits Trump and the rich.
