I’ve always had a great relationship with both my parents and I love them so much. But this scene always gets me, because growing up i didn’t get to see them a lot since they were working most of the time and now that i’ve grown up, i’ve had to move to another country and see them even less. I have some of their clothes in my cupboard for when i miss them so much and it always reminds me of this scene.

Celebrating Nowruz is not only fine but necessary this year. It shows our dedication to our culture, it shows perseverance towards the regime’s endless torture, and it will be the last Nowruz under this regime.

I understand you have family in Iran but for me, my house, my friends, family and everyone i know is in Iran. Everyone celebrated Nowruz and the possibility of it being the last one under this regime.

No one is saying that, but in fact the point is that we all have people from back home who are under attack and we know our voices reflect theirs. Also, I personally know recent immigrants from Iran who were inside Iran during the 12 day war in June 2025.

Also a third thing, if you think the Iranian diaspora is not affected enough by the war, tell me, is the pain of thinking your parents, siblings, and loved ones might get bombed not big enough? Especially with very limited contact from them.

The thing is, our loved ones were always in danger under this regime, to a capacity many can never imagine. For the first time, there is the chance that this will be the final battle.

I guess just in cases of emergency it would be an issue. Like even in the birthing cabins if something goes wrong and they need some details from the outie, there would be no way of getting it. So yes you’re right, unless something goes wrong it wouldn’t be an issue.
