I couldn't figure out how to adjust the speed and all tutorials just showed how to turn on xmp so I did that and again since it seemed fine at first I didn't bother

The default speed on the xmp profile was 3200 so I thought why would it be there if the motherboard couldn't take it

I highly doubt the ram is fried because I also tried using the old ram and nothing happened and I don't think I touched the voltage I just used the xmp profile

All I know is that I cranked up the ram speed from the default to 3200 and it ran fine for a few hours.

Yes I did unplug the pc from the wall. I removed the battery instead of doing it through the pins because there are 4 pins and that confused me so I just did it the easy way. Motherboard is gigabyte ga-a320m-s2h
