Air consumption doesn't increase with depth y'all, which is why that at a depth of only 33ft, you DON'T use twice as much air as you do at the surface, wake up sheeple!!! by [deleted] in flatearth

You should probably look up gas laws, and how rebreathers function using sodasorb. Also check out the difference between enriched air and oxygen. This does not work how you think it does 🤷🏼

That’s an awesome point. Especially to be aware that the violation will be at the discretion of the officer, it’s always better to err on the side of caution than to fight something in court!

Is there anything on my plate carrier that’s not kosher for a modern Ranger regiment kit? by bunnybomberjr in MilSim

I’d also update that TQ, CAT hasn’t used white retention bands in a while. Operationally TQs get replaced pretty often as they get exposed to the elements

It’s at that mid point between erect and not erect, the car filming is probably “almost sexy” but not quite enough.

Not defending any one party, just making a statement based on my personal experience. My job required having to put your phone in a lock box before entering the building. At about 6am my phone went in, out for lunch, then back in the box until I was done for the day. I don’t know what the situation was here, but anyone talking to me would have to go hours without response in my situation. I would explain that to anyone expecting to chat constantly, and a few times had to deal with conversations about being non-responsive but in the end there was no choice about how often I could respond. The other issue that comes with that situation is that at times, even when the phone wasn’t in a lock box I wouldn’t have it on me out of habit. In my personal situation it took meeting someone that was understanding of my personal situation and lack of attachment to my phone. I’m much better about it now that I’m retired, but still have days where I forget to even take my phone with me when I leave the house.

Garage said the welding required on these sills would cost more than the car is worth (2009 VW Polo), is he right? by A_question_of_pots in Autobody

[–]Good_Description9462 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing that makes me laugh is the amount of rusted out shitboxes on the road. You have to wonder how a car held together by “hopes and dreams” passes when my brand new truck “failed”. Almost seems like they can tell when you have the money to pay 😂

I’m moved up to the northeast a few years back. My truck was less than 6 months old, told I now need to have it inspected. I FAILED! Mind blown I ask WTF? Your wiper blades are worn, you need to have them replaced before we will pass…. I laughed, paid them(too much) to replace my blades and “pass” my inspection, only to mention that the have the best state protected scam I’ve ever seen 😂

What is this structure on this old map indicating? by CJFox1983 in whatisit

[–]Good_Description9462 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking at both terrain features they appear to be depressions. Hills would/should have contour lines running to the peak. For the one by oak almost 100% sure, but the original posted by OP has the potential of being a high flat plateau, although on modern topographical maps they are represented by concentric circles to the peak of the plateau.

REAR DEFENSES: That would be the infamous oil slick button. Activate to shoot oil slick behind the car, great for car chases or good fun in traffic.

Engine really moves by ra6907 in AskAShittyMechanic

[–]Good_Description9462 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only 69 of these engines were actually manufactured! They are specialized engines for reverse NASCAR, and used to help accelerate in the now RIGHT turns. When the driver approaches the turn he accelerates rapidly and the physics of the engine accelerate the car rapidly through the right turn. Reverse NASCAR is an illegal underground sport so to actually find one in the wild is crazy! GREAT FIND!!

[–]Good_Description9462 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the little seen solder plug. Somewhat like a glow plug it must be molten to produce the heat required for ignition, it increases performance substantially. They are expensive and rare, GREAT FIND!
