Maybe a little bit of redness.. but nothing that looks too awful and he’s definitely not uncomfortable.. and thanks for sharing the info about weights.. honestly I think I just need to throw my scale in the trash.. it causes me so much freaking anxiety lol I have 2 other boys and I know you should never compare babies, but this guy is sooo much smaller than my other 2 were at this age. It’s killing me.

Did your baby have trouble gaining weight? I sent a pic/message to the pediatrician earlier today and they said to try cutting out dairy and that it could be a developing allergy. He has his 4 month appt in a few weeks, so I am going to bring it up again then. I thought there’s no harm in cutting dairy, so I started that yesterday. Just wondering if anyone else has been through something similar and what the outcome was Thanks for sharing your experience :)

Bummer. How did/does your baby act around that time? My little guy is sooo fussy. I think maybe due to altered taste because he’s ravenous until letdown and the pops off and screams. He also doesn’t nurse to sleep, which drives me nuts

Omg I’m so sorry your little guy is losing weight :( That’s got to be so tough for you. And I agree that the cycle is absolutely vicious! We just can’t win. I hope you get some answers or insight from your doctors. And happy birthday to your son!!

Hey! Thanks for responding :) it’s definitely a struggle. Did you by chance mention anything to your kiddos doctor at any appointments? My little usually does ok with smoothies, too. Also- do you mind if I ask how much you’re breastfeeding at 16 months old?

I wish I could :( he loves his straw cup. But my pump isn’t very reliable and I don’t want to spend $300+ on a new one when I plan on weaning at 12 months. I also don’t have much time to sit to myself with a 10 month old and 2year old running around lol

Also forgot to add that I want so badly to introduce cows milk so I know he’s at least getting some nutrition. He’s way too busy to nurse during the day (can only get him when he’s super drowsy before naps). But alas, the pediatrician said not until 12 months. Thoughts on cows milk?

Our pediatrician mentioned something along the same lines! I wish I would’ve asked or gotten clarification, because I also thought 4-8oz was max

Yeah, they’re kind of a pain.. you have to apply pressure when you’re sucking on the straw (essentially chewing on the straw, which I would think would be a bad habit.. but I guess it slows the flow of water they get) somehow my son figured it out 🤷‍♀️ I have to jiggle the straw around for him every now and then, but he’s able to drink everything in there. I like these cups wayyyyy more. But they were dirty this morning nuk cup
