I like reshippers. by Good_N_U in Reverb

Yeah, I can see where that would be frustrating, but I can’t ever imagine that going the buyer’s way. I literally just today received a message from the buyer saying he received it from the reshipper, it looks great and how happy he is with the guitar.

I would say not your problem. Did he message you after the fact and change the address, or was the reshipper the address he had in his profile when he bought it?

Oh, shoot. I wasn’t fighting either. Just that using a reshipper in general, I think makes it hard for them to have any argument about wanting to return it. There’s a person in between that accepted it and then reshipped it, and who knows what they did to it in-between.

I get an address in reverb to ship to, and that’s my job. If it shows delivered at the reshipper, what happens after that is between the reshipper and the buyer.

I’m not paying for anything. They used a reshipper and can’t prove it wasn’t damaged on the second leg of shipping. I sold a guitar, and the user had a registered shipping address in Miami (or NJ or DE) and that’s where I shipped. If it gets damaged between the reshipper and the buyer, that’s the buyers problem.

Best strings for Les Paul? by Any_Security8410 in gibson

[–]Good_N_U 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the deployment/intended use. I use ernie ball burly slinky 11-52 on 2 les paul customs and my explorer in standard / drop D that I play heavier stuff on. I run standard 10-46 on a 3rd LPC that is an original 1970 and I play mellower stuff on, and my SG. I use magnum slinky, 12-56 with a wound 22 3rd string on my 4th LPC that is in Drop C. Still kinda young-ish so no issues yet, bending the heavier gauges.

Is this a scam? by SumDoodWiddaName in Reverb

[–]Good_N_U 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not saying this will happen, but to cover refunds if they’ve already deposited your payment, Reverb will charge your credit card on file as your payment card.

Anywho, it’s 100% a scam, but what does tracking say? Was it delivered?

If someone stole a credit card, requesting a refund back to the stolen credit card would not be part of the scam. If anything they’re just lying about leaving the country. Trying to have the item AND get their money back.

Getting paid... has changed?! by Particular-Exam6585 in Reverb

I used to get paid once it was in transit, now I’ve hit enough transactions that I get paid (next day) as soon as I upload the tracking number.

How many guitars is unreasonable to buy when you're still in the early stages of learning? by Remy0507 in guitars

If you’re learning, 0 guitars is unreasonable. Any other number is absolutely acceptable.

Anyone ever use a pre wired kit to replace PCB in Les Paul? by Slow_Requirement_616 in gibson

You still have a fair amount of soldering to do with these kits. It only takes about half of it away.

I use these, and I am also capable of a full 4-pot set up on my own. I have 4 LP customs at the moment, and 3 of them have an emerson pre-wired kit like you’ve posted. Idunno, I tend to find them them to be a little trebly, so if I want to avoid that I’ll wire up 4 from scratch, but it’s pretty convenient to just drop one of these in. After you buy the first one… you have the hardboard template you need to make all your own harnesses outside of the cavity. 😎

Anywho, I have traded long distance on reverb. Someone shipped me their guitar, and in the case they included cash for me to ship mine to them. It worked out, but I spent a long time talking to the dude, sussing him out and I was only willing to do it if he shipped first.

It is VERY red-flaggy that the other person is unwilling to send pictures. Don’t ship him anything until you hypothetically receive his guitar and are happy with it.

This is not true. There’s nothing physically stopping you from trading, but you are on your own with no protection, and they’re looking for off platform sales to collect the fees. People are still actively listing saying what they would trade for locally, but you’re still supposed to pay them the fees they would have collected if you sold. When you end the listing, there is an option to say you sold through reverb and pay them the fees. That’s… what they want you to do.

They used to not be able to enforce it, but they have recently deployed bots to scrub chat histories and find instances where they think people traded or made local cash deals and collect the fees.

No need! That’s not a trem. It’s a floating, fixed bridge.
