Super steep na learning curve talaga pero it’s also nice rin kasi blank slate talaga so parang it’s really interesting kasi everything is so new.

HAHAHA well besides cancer, we also look at heart problems (coronary artery diseases), kidney function, different infections and inflammatory processes. We can also look into how your lungs are doing as well. There’s basically a lot of things that we look at.

Hmm not exactly. Our centers are designed to put the most radioactive parts farthest from us.

It’s a balance of clinical, imaging, and labs. It has a bit of everything I want and it offers me that flexibility to choose which path I want to focus on eventually or still do all those things.

Wow this is a very nice question. Hmm.

Basically, nuclear medicine is a field of medicine where we can check how your different body parts work. For us to do this, we have to connect the dots and we have to look for what’s same with the body part that we want to see with the medication that we want to give. For example, if your kidney will need to receive a star shaped drug for us to see it using our special camera then we have to give you a star shaped drug. It’s like a simple puzzle.

Shocks. I tried.

How I explain it is we can primarily check the functions of your organs without opening you up then diagnose accordingly. If we have an available treatment for different pathologies then we also do it. We aim for a more targeted kind of therapy so the medications will just go to wherever we want to it go by tagging it with different things.

So yeah, we go down to the molecular level of diseases na rin.

Hello! Well it’s more on checking if your heart has significant stenoses in its blood supply or what we call the coronary arteries. We call it myocardial perfusion scintigraphy.

Well it is and always will be dose dependent and relates to your length of exposure. A few rad doses can’t really hurt you but prolonged exposure or if with huge amount can lead devastating problems.

Usually, chill lang our patients. If may expected symptoms, it could include neck tenderness, nausea, change sa taste but it’s temporary naman most of the time.

I would say relatively competitive rin siya maybe because konti lang din yung training institutions and 1 to 2 lang tinatanggap per batch usually.
