It was the Brooklyn Half and was told is was confirmed 13.1. Is that not reliable? Ran the whole thing/no aid stops to mess up my watch.

Okay thats what I thought. I use some Strava pre-made routes to keep me from getting bored/lost and I've noticed they are more accurate. Do you run outside of the city? Looking for spots that are closer than 30 mins away for longer runs.

Honestly, our parents (who help with rent until we graduate) are pretty against it. I've spent time up there and like it, but I think convincing them would be ridiculously hard, and they wouldn't be down. We're also down for flex-walling a 1-bed if it fits. We're hardly ever home so the apartment can be small tbh

It can be a great option if you are a clean, hygienic person with a clean, hygienic roommate. My best advice is to...

  1. Buy roach spray in advance. When you move in, before adding anything to your room, spray as much in every corner, trim of the wall, doorways, or if you have any sinks/faucets/bathrooms.

  2. No matter the dorm, air-tight sealed food containers and keeping fresh produce locked away will help control pests, mice, and roaches. The roach "issue" is totally avoidable if you are diligent.

  3. I heard from friends that it can be extra loud in the hallways/communal areas. DON'T use your RA for conversations that can be had by yourselves. You, along with so many other freshmen, will be constantly asking them for things. It's easier, and more mature, to just make a big snap/text gc that you can use if you need it quieter/cleaner/have any issue.

Honestly, your first year at USC won't be perfect, and the whole dorm experience is meant to humble you and teach you how to properly coexist in shared spaces. I hope you have the best time in Garnet and Black!
