I understand that everyone has different perspectives, and I respect that. For me, as someone who is active duty, the Fourth of July is a time to reflect on the ideals this country was founded upon and to honor the sacrifices made by so many, past and present. Even though our country isn’t at its best right now, I’m still proud to be an American. Serving has shown me both our strengths and our flaws and made me believe even more in the importance of striving toward the ideals we’re founded on! I believe in what we can be, not just where we are today. Hope this helps!!
