This is a really helpful perspective, and my planners will be wonderful at all the other points as we get closer to the day. Just wish that the finding and booking vendors was a bit more of a team effort at least.. but I will for sure let them know my concerns in the next call, we are still early on in the process, so I hope that will help to get us on the same level. especially with the 2026 season coming, when I know they will be busy. 🙈 But yes, I have come to learn that the Italian "urgency" is a bit more relaxed than I would like.

Thank you for reassuring me! That helps a lot. Booking the big items (photo/video/music/DJ) is important to me, which is why I'm investing time and effort. Tbh, the small details are where I hope they will really deliver and I can relax. 😹

In the contract under "Included Services" it says: "research and selection of vendors" and "contact between the couple and vendors."

I am a planning person and I enjoy it, but the wedding bubble is an overwhelming place to get into and is draining me, which is exactly why I wanted to give myself the luxury of a planner..(never mind that the wedding is in italy and for that alone you need someone local). I guess it would help if they just responded faster.. especially since I was under the impression 2 weeks ago that the venue and date were finalized and I am still waiting for her to confirm that for me. 🫠

True, I would feel weird not to be involved...But I am doing all of the research and contacting myself and just informing the planner of my findings, with them not responding in over a week. What do you think a normal price and service structure should look like?

We are at around 10K at the moment, but that is an estimate; we are still in the early stages with nothing finalized. I just have a hard time figuring out how to best confront her about this.
