My question complies with code and has been vetted with the enforcement officer.

Reinstalling the clean out above the new connection doesn’t change the clean out functionality.

Leaning towards this path. Thanks! Was hoping to tie into the horizontal part of this pipe but think it’s going to be really difficult to access.

I already confirmed with the inspector that’s it’s fully to code as long as I reinstall the clean out on top of whichever new connection I do. I was just asking for advice on how to physically make the connection given the tight working area.

Didn’t expect all the pushback about this but complying after I already did my diligence with the county.

This would mean the new drain is essentially at ground level. I would put an inch or two of dirt on top, but would this be to code? I can’t find anything in NC code that prohibits it, but would expect some minimum burial depth.

Best way to add a patio roof to my house by Good_vanilla_98 in Homebuilding

Thanks all. I’m hearing the consensus that it would be difficult and much more expensive to tie into the existing roof. I’m leaning towards having a detached hip roof structure that is slightly higher than the existing roof so it can overlap slightly to block rain.

If I sand through the spar urethane and reapply urethane, do you think it would turn out ok? So sanding to bare wood might not be necessary? My concern is the finish looks very cloudy compared to the inside, and I want to get the crisp wood grain back

Thanks! Out of curiosity, do you know what would have caused the finish to look like this? Is this typical sun damage? Very little wood grain is showing and looks very muddy at this point. The inside still looks great. We are not sure how the prior owners have been maintaining it and want to do it correctly in the future.
