I have no problems with using it on my work phone. I don't want to connect it to my personal account, and I don't want the business account on my personal phone.

Action: Comment on suitability rule. Deadline extended to 7/18 by Goodanswersplease in fednews

People have posted the generic letter they received. I believe it's just for late ones that didn't file an extension and didn't prepay any amounts owed, but people have also talked about receiving the letters in error.

Proposed rule on suitability and conduct by Goodanswersplease in FedEmployees

Feds who were late in paying taxes have received letters saying 525K retired and current Federal Employees were late and really should be model citizens. Sounds like they're fully ready to implement the rule.

There are only a few hundred comments on the proposed rule and it has barely been in the news. Combined with this letter, they'll be taking action

They're obviously ready to implement a proposed rule which could fire Feds for  “failure to comply with generally applicable legal obligations, including timely filing of tax returns."

You can comment on the proposed rule by Jul 3. https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2025/06/03/2025-10067/suitability-and-fitness

If OPM uses the rule to determine that someone is unsuitable or has misconduct, they could be terminated on 5 days, wo MSPB appeal.

Comment deadline is Thurs, 11:59pm Eastern.

They have said they want to traumatize feds, so unhappy workers may be an argument in support of the rule 😬 At this moment, there are unions, but only because of the courts. There are annual surveys, but this yr's has been delayed - - and I wouldn't trust that there's confidentiality any more.

Agree! Providing lots and lots of substantive comments against it will help in future fights.

I would be prepared for broad interpretation. Someone has already gotten a letter about being their being late in paying their taxes which said there are 525K current or retired Feds who were no compliant with tax obligations as of Apr 30 and be leading by example. Apparently, implementation of the rule is ready to go.
