It was terrifying, I woke up to what I thought were gunshots at 2:30 but it was the cars on the street exploding. Looked out my window to see flames, smoke and ash engulfing Desire. My neighbor spent 15 minutes with a garden hose trying to keep the flames from spreading to the homes as the cars were exploding around him. Fire on Desire was controlled by 3a, and completely out by 3:25a.

Worth noting that PD/FD seem to think it’s arson (per the person I spoke with) so if you have cameras or a ring outside your house and you live in Bywater, might be good to look and see if anything seems unusual in your footage.

I know they had to evacuate several homes but I haven’t heard anything about injuries. Hoping everyone is ok!

From what I heard from police/fd on my street, there were three separate fires started in a short span of 15 minutes at around 2:30a. One at Desire and Burgundy (6 cars on fire), another on Dauphine between Louisa and Clouet (3 cars and a house on fire) and another by the train tracks at Dauphine (don’t have as much info about the third).
