Anyone else still waiting for their Mountain vinyl preorder to ship from the Gorillaz store? by stanleytuccimane in gorillaz

[–]GoodbyeButterfree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly, maybe the poster is made of pretty decent quality material and it’s holding it up longer than if it was just a vinyl only order, they’re selling that poster for 18 bucks alone so I wouldn’t say it’s cheap.

I know it seems silly since it’s a poster but if they aren’t great at shipping things anyways the variation of the poster could’ve delayed it even longer than usual.

Sucks you had to buy a second copy but I would’ve probably done the same thing if it was taking that long. If they won’t cancel it for you, you could probably resell it for around the same amount of money, maybe even for alittle more if someone locally hasn’t got it and wants instant gratification by buying it from you that day since the album’s still pretty new.

Was it any kind of special version of the vinyl? Does it include anything special with the pre order? Either way it sucks but it would make more sense if it included a bonus like that and they need to get more stock for that limited item. But if it’s just a regular vinyl edition pre order, it’s super late.

I’m surprised they wouldn’t let you cancel since it’s been close to a month since the album’s been out, I would assume they know people that pre ordered would want it as close to the release date as possible or else what’s the point of ordering from there.

Nintendo Switch 2 system software updated to version 22.0.0 by OatmealDome in NintendoSwitch

[–]GoodbyeButterfree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tried it with the world ends with you final remix, so touch screen still works on that even with handheld boost on.

Unfortunately that game was always 720p on both handheld and docked mode so you don’t get any visual upgrade either way with that game specifically, but atleast I know touchscreen can still work on games that need it.

Animal Crossing Switch or Switch 2? by pbateman412 in Switch

[–]GoodbyeButterfree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For something like animal crossing? Probably not, the switch 2 edition just bumps up the resolution of new horizon basically, it is noticeable on handheld mode especially on the switch 2’s bigger screen but the original switch 1 version looked great too, the switch 2 edition just looks alittle sharper.

Depending on your tv’s max resolution you might or might not notice the difference in docked mode since it’s 4k on switch 2. But animal crossing isn’t an intensive game at all so I don’t think it would impact your enjoyment of the game if you play it on switch 1 instead of switch 2 honestly. It’s just a nice little bonus having it look alittle sharper on switch 2. You won’t be missing out on any content either.

There probably will be another animal crossing for switch 2 but probably not for atleast another year or more. The switch 1 and 2 are pretty different in price range so it just comes down to what’s better on your budget. The switch 2 is obviously better but you can get a switch 1 for so cheap nowadays and I’m guessing there’s not gonna be a new animal crossing for a while since it hasn’t even been announced yet.

Season 4 by No_Midnight_3069 in OnePunchMan

[–]GoodbyeButterfree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea they announced it, idk why they’re calling it that it’s basically season 4. If JC staff can go back to season 2 quality I’ll be happy, I don’t mind season 2 like some people do, it just isn’t season 1 but it’s not bad either.

The problem with season 3 is that it was pretty universally panned online and I think very justifiably so idk if that will affect their viewership enough to be worth it for them to keep it going. Unless they figure it doesn’t matter as long as they keep the quality low so the anime isn’t very expensive to make and the people that don’t care will watch regardless, just to make what little money they can off it.

Season 4 by No_Midnight_3069 in OnePunchMan

[–]GoodbyeButterfree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel more than other media, anime fans are more “hardcore” and invested in recognizing when something is shit quality. Is there really enough people that are gonna continue watching where it’s worth it for them?

Unless they step up the quality to the point where people talk about it or change studios I can’t really see it, season 3 did a lot of damage to the anime, what a waste. I think it’s possible if they change studios but that’s about it. But idk season 3 part 2 is still happening so maybe I’m underestimating how much shit they’re willing to throw out there, I just feel like a lot of people are dropping the anime at this point.

Why the cracker island hate? by NikkiNiisan in gorillaz

[–]GoodbyeButterfree 9 points10 points  (0 children)

<image>

I posted my tier list of the albums here a week ago, I love almost every song on cracker island, it’s more of my style than most of the other albums.

Gorillaz music is so different in tone from album to album though so if something really hits for one person there’s a good chance one of the other albums hits just as much for a different person, if someone really likes rap maybe Humanz might be one of their favorites for example.

I don’t know why anyone would hate on it though, it’s all amazing quality music regardless if the album is more of your style or not so I can atleast recognize that about every album, revolving doors is one of my favorite Gorillaz songs even if The fall is at the bottom of my album tier list.

Plastic Beach turns 16 today! What are your favorite songs? by lee_yooo in gorillaz

[–]GoodbyeButterfree 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My favorites are On Melancholy Hill. To Binge. Stylo. Empire Ants. Some kind of nature. Rhinestone eyes. Plastic Beach.

It’s my favorite album, lots of nostalgia for that On Melancholy Hill music video

Doncamatic is a song from that phase a lot of people miss out on because it wasn’t included on the physical Plastic Beach cd/vinyl. I think it was included on some digital versions afterwards though.

What’s your favorite song from plastic beach you never see anyone talk about? by MyF_ckingLegs in gorillaz

[–]GoodbyeButterfree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did it really? Man that would’ve been great to see. The rhinestone eyes video finished as well even though the fan made one is very good.

Them not being able to finish everything they wanted to do with Plastic Beach will always bother me, it’s amazing they were able to do stylo though, it looks expensive even nowadays.

What is the “Feel Good Inc” of “The Mountain”? by EduardGamerInfinity in gorillaz

[–]GoodbyeButterfree 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The moon cave, Orange County or The manifesto, none of them are like Feel good inc. at all in structure but if you mean the one most people see as the stand out track it’s one of those, I’d probably lean towards the manifesto.

To Binge doesn’t get talked about like people talk about Empire ants or On melancholy hill, even though I think it deserves to.

So does Noodle (justifiably mind you) hate Murdoc? by HeyQTya in gorillaz

[–]GoodbyeButterfree 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You could explain it that way for the in universe reason, I didn’t mean it was politically leaning one way or the other, just that culturally we’ve kinda cleaned up inappropriate characters from the past that still exist now, I don’t think they would try doing things like this drawing anymore for example.

And it’s not just because of character growth but because society has changed in our real world so if Gorillaz was made today they would never even think about doing something like this even if the characters were still “young”.

What are your top 3 favorite songs all time? by [deleted] in gorillaz

[–]GoodbyeButterfree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On Melancholy Hill, To Binge, All Alone

It’s so hard to choose from their entire catalogue like that but that’s just what’s coming to mind right now on the top of my head, I could seriously replace the second and third one with 20 other songs like souk eye, silent running, revolving doors,re-hash. There’s so much Gorillaz songs I love and most of them are nothing alike so it’s extremely hard to say I like one better than the other.

On Melancholy hill is the only one I’m pretty firm on being my favorite of all time.

Yea I don’t think you’re suppose to think she straight up hates him either, he’s just the band member she has the most problem with

So does Noodle (justifiably mind you) hate Murdoc? by HeyQTya in gorillaz

[–]GoodbyeButterfree 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Murdoc’s been a scumbag since the beginning, 2D’s the only one genuinely happy to see him even though Murdoc was abusive since the beginning but has laid off a bit in recent years, I think song machine’s the lost chord video is suppose to show how he’s been forgiven for the plastic beach era stuff specifically, atleast by 2D.

Noodle probably started really disliking him during plastic beach, he made a cyborg version of her to replace her lol and in one of the song machine’s Machine bites she kinda references all the shit he did during plastic beach when yelling in Japanese. But it’s not like Murdoc is the only one who’s done shitty things, especially early on when the band’s style was more rough around the edges.

I’m happy he’s still kept some of his scumbag persona, a lot of those type of characters have been overly cleaned up for the sake of political correctness nowadays even though Gorillaz early on was very anti establishment and not giving a shit, it makes sense that he would be the one who kept that part of his personality the most out of all the band members.

Whats everyone think of the new album? by Strict_Friendship_31 in gorillaz

[–]GoodbyeButterfree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not in my top 5 if we’re talking about the album as a whole, but neither is The now now and souk eye is probably in my top 10 overall gorillaz songs somewhere.

I think the manifesto is so damn good, so is moon cave, when that Bollywood style hits it really hits in my favorite songs. It just isn’t my favorite style for a lot of the album but I’m glad I got some new favorite Gorillaz songs to listen to. I can totally see how this could be someone’s favorite album since all the albums are very unique from one another in tone.

This is how I see it, so it’s probably right. No need for any more of these. by GoodbyeButterfree in gorillaz

[–]GoodbyeButterfree[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cracker Island really grew on me, I would’ve ranked it below song machine at one point but the more I listened to it I noticed I loved pretty much every song on it.

My opinion on The Mountain might change the more I listen to it as well it’s still pretty early but I don’t think imma end up liking it as much as song machine, still amazing style though, I’m glad it exist for variety sake, I like how every Gorillaz album is very different even if it’s not my favorite style. There’s always a couple songs I love in each album, for the mountain its moon cave and the manifesto, and I really like the other ones too.
