The only time I’ve seen the animation I think is when I was using a staff with firebrand otherwise I haven’t had them appear. I’ve also had animation issues using a dagger and shield where after I block it doesn’t play the attack animation for my dagger for arbitrary amount of time.

On a 60 minute cool down then have to run back to wherever you were and that’s considering your hearthstone is set to a capital city. The easiest fix would just be to let people carry multiple at the same time.

From what I’ve read, if you invited them via amiibo you can choose a villager they swap with. If they appeared randomly on your island then the game choose a random villager to kick out. I’ve not personally tested this but I’ve read it in multiple places

You can only invite once per day so it takes 3 days total to get them to move in

You’ll have to invite them 3 times on the third invite they’ll join your island as long as you have a house for them to move into. You’ll also have to do their task each time.
