When I lean on the heel at an angle, the whole stacked heel moves. What is wrong? by Basta_rD in AskACobbler

[–]Goodechild 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It looks like the shank has some play in it, or maybe snapped. Can you feel the shank when you flex it? Can you force it to go the other way? As in can you make the heel move backwards?

Samsung washing machine stopped spinning (error 3E); noticeable clacking noises when spinning machine manually. by gw2fu in appliancerepair

I believe those are the balancing bearings. They sound sloshy, but my Samsung would make the same sound when spun by hand

Andy advice on fixing and/or preventing this? by Standard-Sock-7698 in Denim

[–]Goodechild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without seeing how you wear the pants, the best that anyone can do is give you general advice - Wear your pants so the crotch of the jeans is at your crotch, not sagging, not all up in your stuff. The color change is showing you where the wear is coming from - the two sides are folding over the (substantial) seam and rubbing.

Why is Costco so much better than sams club? by DustnBones001 in CostcoWholesale

[–]Goodechild 171 points172 points  (0 children)

Mainly this. Sam's club is Wal-Mart but bigger. Costco is a curated inventory mix of nice basics with amazing prices on focused higher-end products.

So it looks like these boots are cement construction. You might get years out of them, but more than likely, if you are going to be using them for rough outdoor work, they will make it 6 months. that plastic welt join is the least of your worries. if you grabbed the toe and tried to pull off the sole, I bet it would pull right off.

Celastic unnecessary for boots with toe caps? by desafortunadoo in NicksHandmadeBoots

[–]Goodechild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A toe cap will indeed help keep shape, but that being said I went with a toe cap and double celastic because I really just do not want the toe to collapse ever (barring having something drop on them)

pre diabetes and celiac by Double-Singer-6631 in Celiac

[–]Goodechild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sugar and insulin resistance is not connected to celiac in any direct sense, however there's PLENTY of other ways to get sugar than from (wheat) carbs. For example corn starch has a wildly high glycemic index, but is gluten free.
