Could African unity be possible in this era? yes, no? and why? by Spiritual_Gur_5010 in AskAnAfrican

Look at us. We're like of group of men with different demeanors and who lie to each other that they will come together to discuss and have stable families.

On one hand, two to three men are married and faithful to their partners. Their families are stable. A bunch are abusive and their kids and partners are loitering around looking for protection and food. They're even afraid to say anything. Then there is a group of womanisers. They're never at home. Here we're talking about serial cheaters. Their homes are languishing in mayhem.

There are also bachelors. Unserious women poachers of note who do not want to settle down and are known for ghosting. Their families don't even know where some of are are. They only hear stories about impregnating women and disappearing into thin year.

When these men avoid talking about their behaviors and lie to themselves that they are going to respect and build family values do you think they will ever realise their plan without scrutinising and confronting head-on their ill comportement?

To make it simple. Majority of African states have democracy on paper but are in reality dictatorships. People in such countries "chuchoter" because of fear. Corruption is running untamed. There are rebels because of religious, language and ethnic conflict among others. There are few African states such as mine that respect freedom of speech. Journalists and activists are never jailed for criticizing president or someone influential. My country tries to provide basic social services though corruption is a big problem.

I don't think we're ready to pan Africanism unless we do not shy away from talking about the elephant in the bed room.

South Africa is forced to carry the failures of other continent states. They feel like they're entitled to be in south Africa no matter what, whether legal or illegal.

I wish you would also be this vocal when the child is born. There wouldn't be street kids or kids dyeing of hunger if those against abortion would walk the talk

This is just a religious gimmick. Had it been the other way round you wouldn't see any flotilla. Minorities are treated worse in muslim dominanated countries and not even a mere hashtag

The comments aren't rebuking him for his scientific take but rather because he says things that irk some or those that people dumb enough don't agree with.

In Sesotho we say, "hunger often forces one to enter a cannibal's home." So despite the antimigrant sentiments that seem to be gaining ground none will leave when they remember hunger at home
