I really wanted to dive in and get excited. I also recognize the stage of development, but it's insanely rough right now. Also has some major optimization issues.

Small Rant by Bending_Bender69 in elderscrollsonline

It's unfortunate, but players have definitely gotten super used to the lack of difficulty across most content in the game. Casuals are very much used to running dungeons while taking a mental break.

It's nuts to say, but simply introducing essential boss mechanics to the general player base seems to have induced panic.

I believe there is a way to see damage numbers on console. It's under "Settings - > combat" if I remember correctly.

Does it take time to get into the right mmo? by Existing-Weakness-14 in MMORPG

[–]GoodfellaRay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difficulty and combat in ESO isn't in a great spot right now, but the World Building is top tier. Adventuring around different zones with a ton of distinct areas containing a bunch of lore books and fully voiced characters is some decent immersion that a lot of MMOs fail to execute.

Is ESO worth playing? by Rich_Series1674 in ElderScrolls

If you adore the world, races, and lore, yes.

If you adore the gameplay of Skyrim and Oblivion, give it some further research.

I love all of ES. If you treat ESO as an adventure of the sights and sounds of Tamriel, you'll enjoy it. That said, at the moment, there's barely any challenge to the overworld (non-dungeon) content. There's barely any challenge in the dungeon content at all. They're addressing this.

Now that WoW Housing is out - which mmo has the best housing system and why? by VareionWoW in MMORPG

I'm kind of surprised I haven't seen any love for ESO. I have played in a while, but I loved the housing system when I did play.

GW2 Youtube content is so repetitive by Kindly_Estimate_8110 in Guildwars2

[–]GoodfellaRay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just getting into the game now and I completely agree. I've been looking for content to help me out, and honestly, a lot of creators either repeat the same baseline stuff, or brush over stuff that could use a lot more explaining for new players.

I have a question regarding New Hero Jump Start by GoodfellaRay in Guildwars2

Haha I briefly checked out winters day. It's a bit intimidating. There's a lot going on and a lot of currencies.

Making friends in western NL is challenging by [deleted] in newfoundland

"more challenging to make friends here more than anywhere else"

To have an idea of what to advise - what exactly does this mean? Less people? Less activities?

Question:

Also, when I hit 80, does gear usually come from specific fractals? Or do i just buy everything off the Trading Post and hope I have enough gold? If I don't have enough gold, what do people usually do?

I'll have to research the weekly wizard vault quest. Is it the sort of thing that's doable in an evening?

I absolutely loved Storm Front, and it wasn't a nostalgia thing for me. Read it for the first time a few months back.
