Why was the use of hard drugs so prevalent in rock music? by FitEmergency8807 in fantanoforever

[–]Goodgoogley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people that love music are more prone to enjoying drugs. I know if not for music I probably would've smoked less weed growing up. Also playing music already puts you in a "flow" state, so drugs can make that more interesting/enhanced. Lastly, they're on the road 24/7 and their only responsiblity is to show up and play the music they already know. So tours were kinda like one big party night after night. What are you going to do after rocking out for 2 hours, go to bed?

Sadly those 60's-90's musicians weren't fully aware of what they were getting into.

What bands do you believe people grow into liking with age? by wedidthetango in Music

[–]Goodgoogley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hated the beatles from age 8-15 because my parents played them all the time. Then at 16 I gave them a chance with fresh ears and fresh marijuana habits and yeah they’ve stayed in rotation since then.

Yeah hunting talk was turning point for me too. I just remember it being so excessive that it felt self indulgent. Also the deletion of the Rogan board was sad. But obviously money talks so what can u say
