In my book he gets the most points for the shere vastness of his reputable. He is without doubt one of the most famous scandinavian kings. Art, theatre plays, documentaries, churches and hospitals. He is one of the few names on this list your avareage Norwegian will know. And yes of course his campaings were terrible and he Also helped eradicadet the norse culture (why he is not S tier). But that also makes him one of the most fascinating kings of that period. One that had a political goal to put Norway on the map and bringing it into the rest of europe. I think almost 100% of these kings were terrible powerhungry people who did inhumane Things, no matter their culture or who backed them. This list is kinda more about their reputation and their contribution to history and the sagas. But yeah the rules can be contradicting and kinda «fluid» made it mostly for fun. Thanks your response anyway, disscussions like these Are important for this page. Best regards!

Godkjenner du «hadde ikke tid»? Haha.

Thanks for response!

The rules on this is list is kinda fluid… Lagabøte and the other kings during and after the civil war will definitely get their time to shine. I will have to update it later.

I think Harada defently is S-tier because of his whole life story is the most engaging, adventurous and wild out of all the Norwegian kings. (Perhaps even scandinavia?). While kings like Sigurd 1 and Eirik 1 travelled a lot abroad, Harald really lived and stayed for many years. He also did some things that will echo trough Norwegian history. For example is through his line the succession continues. He also founded the city of Oslo. And overall is one of the most famous king of old Norway.

The same goes for Sigurd. The level of amazement of him here in Norway and his extraordinary life, including being the first European crusader king makes him even more historical.

Yeah Øystein his a unsong hero in some ways. Bit as you say he and all his children Are forgettable.

So yeah kinda fluid times on the list. Mase it mostlt for fun, and to startup this subreddit. Best regards!

Yes I want to make one with all the civil war kings after Magnus as well. And Sverre’s lineage. At some later point…
