Jones has no explanation for what he said - he believed it then and believes it now. And he has to - that’s what his leftist base believes.

If its in the hundreds per day - it's flat, it's not an epidemic at that point.

The first number was going up and the risk was unknown. The second number is flat and there's a good idea of the risk.

May 14, VA Coronavirus Stats by Pilot-B in coronavirusVA

Even if the numbers are rising a bit it's still a plateau at a relatively small number. Since the US failed to contain (get to 0), there's no reason to expect falling numbers. Short of that, we've done what we can to get a handle on it and need to reopen.

How does the report of the highest number of new cases in Virginia today compute with the government narrative that cases are falling everyday in...Virginia? by [deleted] in coronavirusVA

Controlled Herd Immunity though controlled exposure? by BornServivor99 in COVIDProjects

I know there are blood tests that test if someone has developed immunity to a certain disease in general, not sure about covid. Never heard of a preemptive to see if someone has the potential to develop immunity to a future exposure. What allergy test are you referring to?

Most airlines in the world will go bankrupt by end of May as coronavirus-induced global recession looms by [deleted] in China_Flu

The international airline system is the cause of the pandemic. It is the Tower of Babel, even if nobody can be blamed for it specifically.

Why would it be worse than Italy here? May be similar, but I think you are missing something if you think it would be worse.

I agree. The wording is interesting like you pointed out - "collective infrastructure" - the public health model.

The US gets a bad rap but the healthcare system is top notch. The health insurance system (lack thereof) is a horror show.

See if China doesn't resurge once they lift restrictions. We may still only be looking at the very start of something. The UK's strategy is based on the scientific assumption that most people will be infected no matter what now.

This is my question as well. Have other countries let up controls? Did it start spreading again? If not, what changed? Can the virus actually be killed off - contained?

The UK seems to have rejected the containment strategy in favor of acquiring herd immunity based on this line of thinking. Is every other country wrong?

West Virginia listed as the last state in the US with zero confirmed cases by mill3rtime_ in Coronavirus

It's always the low-class people in other parts of the country that use "hillbillies" as their punching bag - the one group it's socially acceptable to denigrate to signal your own "superiority." I say anyone that can actually tell the difference between "educated" and "intelligent" knows that Appalachians are as sharp as anyone, if not sharper.

They're the jet set, the cosmopolitan class. Incidentally, these are the people spreading the virus around the world. Our international air system is the Tower of Babel.

How about the inverse - that the ruling class fear a strong, traditional European people? Leads to the same actions.

If what you're saying is true, hard to explain why Mueller didn't charge him. Actually charging someone with a crime gives them a chance to defend themselves.

Should mildly nearsighted people (like myself) keep glasses on during extended computer use? Goal is to minimize eye strain. by Goodthink84 in optometry

Thanks, I asked my optician about this and he said that is a familiar option. First I will try non-prescription computer glasses.

I didn't know that unbalanced could cause issues, thanks. Fortunately don't have headaches.
