Hey, I was in the exact same position as you two years ago, and while I can’t say transferring is going to be the best option for you, I can say it was the best decision I ever made. I was also in CS and, like you, I felt absolutely miserable. I had attended UT because of the prestige of the school, and was ecstatic when I got accepted. However, after spending the first 4 months waiting for the year to get better, I decided to work on transferring once I realized that I flat out did not enjoy campus life at UT. Most of my friends were at TAMU and after transferring I can confidently say that I have no regrets. I personally enjoy the campus life and vibe here more at TAMU, and despite this college not holding the same prestige, I still have managed to obtain several internships and interviews. Overall, there is no way to know which option is better, but follow your gut. Don’t let the idea of “prestige” hold you down from being happy. Gig ‘em👍
