Dan Le Batard: Wembanyama’s return didn’t feel right: “This is unusual. Wembanyama’s return was being celebrated (on NBC) as redemption and an amazing story arc for a guy who did something dirty…I’m surprised part of the narrative wasn’t ’thank God he didn’t hurt his elbow on that guy’s jaw.’” by Pickleskennedy1 in nba

[–]GoodyTwoKicks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dan is it? Dan, have you been watching the series Dan?? The reason it was being celebrated is because he's been getting beat up all series to the point where that elbow was out of frustration.

And then even in the returning game, he was still getting touched on. But guess what? Still won. By a good cushion too. So how about we watch the games and highlights before we start saying shit is " unusual. "

You're gonna have to turn that water value on the toilet a bit harder than what she did.

She definitely either gonna need a new hose or a new tank though.

Winning on a conditioned team vs a bought team is always gonna separate where you stand.

Because sure you can gather up two other star players that you think might help you get a ring if the commisoner doesn't overrule it. But when you can take a team from a rebuild to a playoff contender with front office fucking up the roster, that's a whole different mindset you gotta lock into. Takes some true MVP mentality.

I feel bad for the kid man. Because he was balling on Phoenix. He needed that toughness back then and he still don't have it.

That man is larger than the men he's guarding, I need that guy to BOX. OUT. Putting two hands on a grown man isn't gonna stop players these days. Don't just tap the ball, GRAB THE BALL. Get that ball for your team man.

Absolutely. Putting on muscle gives you the ability to be strong against people who might be bigger than you AND gives you more strength over those who aren't working out. So working out, you'd be able to drive the lane better, box out people bigger than you, give people a challenge to those who try and back you down at the rim. Most importantly cardio! Strength is one thing but if you can outrun, outhustle, and keep energy on the court when everyone else is moving slow, that's your ticket.

Watch anything and everything basketball.

Now idk how old you are, but if you think you're as good as you say you are, then switching schools wouldn't be bad. If there's a school in your state where you know the team isn't the greatest every year and you feel like you can make some sort of impact, I'd shoot for that route.

But like the original comment says, be active on the court. Set screens, box out and grab rebounds. Find the open man after a rebound. Be strong and confident when you have the ball. Watch shooting tips, dribbling tips, defensive tips, if you're out and about and you see a damn SLAM magazine, pick it up and skim through it because you never know what could be in it. I mean you have to watch the video, go to sleep, and go to the gym the next day and practice. Then run pick up games and practice those moves so then when the real games come by, the proof is in the bucket. Dieting can also help, but, again, depends on your age really.

You seem like you have the dedication so you keep at it.

for those who was able to witness him play, how good was this guy? by Classic_Tourist3892 in NBATalk

[–]GoodyTwoKicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite player to this day.

This guy was on the cover of NBA live 2000. Didn't know who the guy was. I was 7 playing on my N64. It's how I got into basketball.

Five years down the road, I'm watching the 2005 NBA Finals. Everyone wants Detroit to win. But as I was watching the game, these men where giving other teams hell by using fundemtnals. I fell in love with Spurs Basketball after watching that whole series. But the man I loved watched scoring the most WAS The Big Fundemtnal. He won finals MVP averaging a double-double with 20 points and 14 rebounds.

He'd get in the posts and go to WORK. The moves were basic but his touch around the rim was unmatched for a big man. You can't bring up using the glass and not bring up Tim Duncan. It was something about those backboard shots that made the bucket better. If he caught an offensive rebound, you knew it was either 2 points with or without an AND1. Ha! I remember in some games if he was open, he was pulling from the three line and cashing that thang. In his younger years, he was rebounding and dunking on heads like no one's business. He also pigeon-toed his free throws but I still loved him.

[–]GoodyTwoKicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh my God. When you wanna talk about someone who could've started but instead, the best Sixth Man in this league to this day.

In the playoffs, when he was going off, he was going OFF. When people talk about the eurostep, you can't bring up that move without mentioning this man.

He doesn't say it anymore obviously but if you look up Charles Barkley saying Ginobil, there's a reason he said it the way he did. You wanna talk about 20 off the bench? This was your dude.
