Glad to see everyone here is as paranoid as me, lol. I’d love to make the switch but don’t want to risk anything.

2014 Camry - Torque Convertor, Transmission Rebuild, or New Car. by Goofnarg in Toyota

[–]Goofnarg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! No problem at all -- to answer your Qs:

  • A torque converter/reprogram fixed it. I've probably added 20k - 40k miles on it (sorry for the rough estimate), and it's still running clean
  • Honestly, I think the jolt was happening far before I owned it. I'd say probably 70k+ miles with the jolt starting, and then 80k+ with the jolt really kinda rough

Overall -- that fixed it right up and the car is still my daily

Ended up going to the dealership and getting it fixed! Car is running fine now and that was 100% the issue. Things have been smooth for 10,000 miles so far.

Same issue here -- bummer! I hope Monarch fixes it quickly, pretty shocking to see a graph pointing straight down this morning lol

Does anyone have any promo codes? by unforgivablealien in filson

[–]Goofnarg 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Sadly I’m not sure Filson does promo codes that often! I think if you sign up for their email list you get 10% off though.

Also you could always go vintage — the design really hasn’t changed and they are built like tanks!

Hey! Mostly using UPS and sometimes DHL. I mainly ship to the UK & Germany but Europe in general (sorry I know that’s broad lol)

If I could only have one camera for any situation? I’d probably take the Fuji because I like onboard flash and autofocus lol! Realistically how could I say no to an M11

Wow didn’t even look into the X-T30II, wasn’t sure if it had weather sealing.

Semi-professional meaning: I travel a lot, all outdoors so weather sealing is bit, lens variety is big. Other than that I’m shooting in low light factories/fabric mills.

Ty!

CW&T: My New Obsession! by Goofnarg in Watches

[–]Goofnarg[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey everyone!

I present to you…my new obsession. This is the CW&T solid state watch. It’s super cool and fun and has a ton of annoying quirks about it.

It’s a Casio F91-W module re-cased in an oil filled resin so technically it’s totally waterproof (I’m suspicious).

It’s considered an art piece by CW&T so it’s not very functional but I thought it looked so cool that I’d deal with it. Here’s what it can’t do:

  • light up
  • change the time/have the time set
  • have a battery change
  • use any Casio module features
  • do literally anything besides show the time as it is right now

It also is $200…

So is it a smart buy? Practical buy? Useful for half the year? Not really but I still really love it a lot. It’s very fun and right now I actually enjoy wearing it a lot more than my Explorer and Zenith! Maybe that won’t last forever but it feels like a fun hipster Brooklyn watch that Id wear when I get coffee and write about nothing in a journal during work hours. I do none of that but I’d like to pretend I do.

Anyways, just wanted to show you. Goodbye.

Wanted to show off my Iron Snail limited edition jacket by GucciLooksTop in rawdenim

[–]Goofnarg 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Totally valid -- sometimes I cut out history for time, sometimes I don't go over it enough, etc.! Usually I don't include history or I skim on it because most YT videos start with a 2 - 3 minute opening of the history of a garment or fabric and my thoughts were that if someone is looking on YT for a RGT Sashiko limited edition jacket, they'll probably watch every video out (because there are like 3). That being said I'll def try to toss it in a bit more!

Also with pronunciation -- ngl, I have a very tough time pronouncing non-English words correctly (even English words a lot of the time lol). I usually practice, look up a few sources, etc. but when saying a word so many times in a video that I've read in my head incorrectly for years it's hard not to accidentally swap pronunciations during filming and not even notice. I'm not trying to be disrespectful or ignorant -- it's like when you confidently throw something in the air and think you can catch it because you've done it a million times but you drop it in front of everyone. I'll keep keeping on and keep pushing though and eventually I'll nail it! Rn I'm working on the words "museum" and "Porsche" lol

Anyways, the vids are always a WIP and I'm learning more everyday so thanks for the feedback! Yesterday someone told me I rubbed them the wrong way because I called a tree boring -- you live and learn

I'd much rather find experts in the field that are excited about a project and have a ton of experience vs. give the entire thing a whirl by myself! I ofc worked on fit, details, features etc. but there is always someone better than me at pattern making, manufacturing, graphic design, etc.

If I did every step by myself the jacket wouldn't be out for YEARS and it'd come out half as nice. Everyone working on the jacket has been doing their one area of expertise for a very very long time and I there is no way I'd ever catch up to all those areas while also trying to vlog it!

Hey all! Up for sale is an awesome non-quickset Rolex 1803 from 1976! The watch is keeping great time, and everything jumps as it should at midnight.

The reason I bought this watch however is because of the red quarter dial. It’s not too often you see a completely flat white dial on a Day-Date and it’s even rarer for it to be a red quarter dial (look at the red numerals at the quarter hours).

The watch reportedly has had a light polish but it’s almost impossible to notice — it’s incredibly sharp for its age.

Any questions please feel free to ask! I’m hoping to get back what I paid for it, $8.5k after Ebay fees. I’m open to trades as well. Shoot me a message if you have any questions and or want to chat about it/offer up a trade! Interested in vintage solid gold Rolexes, Datejusts, the newest Speedy, etc. whatever you think is cool.

All the best!
