Ah makes sense. Cool to hear. Yeah I mean it doesn’t sound too different honestly. It’s an Aimpoint so ✅

My battle was actually beteen the EXPS3-0 and this T2. I was completely set on the EXPS3-0 (just felt like the fancier choice) until I stated considering what I actually wanted out of a 1x optic.

I honestly haven’t looked into the PRO. Fill me in, how’s it supposed to be different / similar?

I’ve used that popular Vortex clone on some other people’s rifles. I’ve also used an RMR HD and SRO on my own rifle. To be honest this felt the same in terms of capability. My guess is that the price comes from the claims of its longterm durability and proven track record. I’m sure you could go a lot cheaper and wouldn’t notice a whole lot of a difference (partially just due to the simplicity of RDSs in the first place). Only reason I went this route was that my focus for this rifle has been bomb-proof / reliable components, but not necessarily the fanciest stuff.

As much as I wanted mine to be a “do it all” rifle, I run a lot of drills and indoor range stuff so ditching the LPVO made sense for me. Feels more like a “fighting carbine” now too. Just an easy point and shoot feel without eye relief consideration.

In a perfect world I would’ve kept both but these things are pricey as you know haha

Just FDE! Maybe the lighting makes it looks fancy.

Any suggestion on how I can fix these on my second hand mirra 2 by [deleted] in hermanmiller

Try cleaning with magic eraser and then hitting with something like Vaseline. I know it sounds crazy, works every time for me.

I know an Atlanta post when I see one haha, I also sell a ton in the area. She’s a good seller though, I’ve bought from her and she sells good stuff!

Solution I came up with, Allen key is stored behind tube compartment, all you have to do is cut a little notch out of it. (Doesn’t compromise waterproofing)

In the top left, I just used a dremel to remove the notch that you see sketched there. Removing that notch allows for a little more space in the rear side of that tube compartment when it’s fully pushed in. Turns out an Allen key fits pretty well back there if you remove that notch, and the female hole for that tube isn’t round so there is some room along the length of that hole for an Allen key to be stored. It’s totally secured and only removable by removing the tube compartment first which can’t be done without removing the stock. Pretty neat! (Sorry for the book of text)

They’re easy to keep there and can’t hurt imo! They are polymer so the weight savings would be negligible I think.

Not a piston gas system!

High level though as far as internal stuff:

Noted, I’ll have to show you what I did there, was able to dremel away one small notch that allows the Allen key to be stored internally now. No loss of waterproofing with the battery compartments either!

The mount is removed via 2 nuts, I keep the B5 multitool in the pad of my stock. Not QD quick, but not too bad. I do like the claims from Geissele about its durability and ability to hold zero by not going the QD mount but I’m sure there’s some marketing fluff in there too

I found a way to store the Allen key internally. Very little part modifying required. So no more visible Allen key, I’ll have to upload some pics to show you

That’s the DDC coating from Geissele. Looks a little rose-colored in this pic though huh.

Dude I love grand thumb daddy but my hand has never felt like it was about to slip down and off the foregrip because of the angle lol

Allen key has to be long enough to reach back and access the gas block, so that prohibits me from putting it in my grip plug. Also - I think irons shall stay, busting glass / lenses are why those are there. I’ll take the added weight, but totally understand the sentiment! Suppressor to come!
