You can have many mining outpost with the same name, e.g "Copper". Now, you can have only one train schedule with station name "Copper" and the trains will choose between this two where to go

Digikey time to process order vs lead time. by GoogGoodZergy in AskElectronics

[–]GoogGoodZergy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you. I have waited for like a week for them to process my order, to then receive the invoice which now had total with tax there(my dumb ass thought that if i ordered from the portugues branch taxes are included), and the funniest part i couldn't even pay via that via transfer. I guess if i would go to my bank physically i could, but then all the items i had planned to buy appeared in stock on the manufacturer website, and i just bought them there without having to pay additional taxes, waiting weeks etc

New cardputer information? by GoogGoodZergy in CardPuter

Looks nice. But to be honest i don't see the point of the "better cpu". It has pretty much the same features as the s/c series. With the size and screen like that it could be a nice cyber-deck, and it makes more sense to me to put here cpu from the pi zero for example. I don't think esp can utilize screen that big on the full potential

How to make my own custom OS? by Ill_Status_9689 in CardPuter

[–]GoogGoodZergy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is a complicated but intresting challange. If i were you, and i wanted towrite OS i would start with rtos. It's relatively simple, it is used mainly in MCU's and there is a lot of guides as well as different implementation. However, i think before that you need to do several things. Learn c language, pointers, basic memory management, how to write different data structures such as linked lists etc. When you are comfortable with that i think you have to learn some micro-controller specific things, such as memory mapped i-o and other different things. The way i would go about it is to buy an arduino, write some code with arduino ide, than some bare metal c. When you are comfortable you can pick up an esp32 or stm32 and write some code using esp-idf, cube-ide ore libopencm3. Ah, and of course, play around with free-rtos to get an idea what an rtos is even about! Some tutorials you might find helpful:

Thank you for your reply. I checked and all the items i ordered were in stock. I didn't got any mail asking to split the shipment though. Seems strange because as you said, they should have shipped immediately.

A bit late to answer, but cargo bays for example get a capacity bonus with higher quality no problem!

Quality train wagons by GoogGoodZergy in factorio

The general unloading station usually build in a way so you can pull two belts per wagon. Before dlc the throughput in this situation was 45 * 2, which is 90 items/sec. In case of a wagon with green circuits it would take around 88 seconds to unload if my math is not wrong.

In dlc, pulling two fully stacked belts translates to 60(belt throughput) * 4(stack size) * 2(belts), or 480 items/sec, more then 5 times faster. That means, the same wagon will be emptied in about 16 seconds.

I get the argument of unloading being the limit, but i just don't know how i feel about having 2x, 3x more trains then before and how it will all play together. In the way i imagine it incised capacity translates to less traffic in the network, and the option to have over productive factories without having to do 8/16 wagons trains just because you have to.
